Well, I'm making a hack and I really need some good ideas.I want to insert SMB3 pipes but I don't understand what the readme that comes with the pipes tells me to do. Also I have no idea how to insert (well,actually I do but I can't find them in LM) ExGFX.Also,can someone tell me how to insert custom backgrounds?

P.S.:Over at SMW Central,cory's ExGFX tutorial didn't help me at all so don't tell me to go and read it.

1: Which ones are you talking about? FuSoYa's SMB3 Pipes that you insert with a Hex Editor, or mikeyk's SMB3 Pipes, which you only need to put in BlockTool?
2: What exactly do you mean? Do you mean that LM can't find the ExGFX? Do you mean that you can't find where the ExGFX is? Or do you expect LM to simply automatically have ExGFX in it?
3: For custom backgrounds, simply insert it as an ExGFX file. Easy as that.

Also I need to know how to insert custom sprites.I used sprite tool and tried to insert an egg bro,it says it was done sucessfully but I can't find where they are so I can place them in my hack.

Oh yeah,to FPI,I installed that patch but could not find where they were so I could place them in the other levels.I used these steps:

1.Patch the IPS to the Clean SMW rom

2.Go into LM and go to the add objects box

3.Click on the dropbox and select Direct Map16 Access

then the pipes are nowhere to be found and yes,I did rename the .dsc file to the name of my rom.Did I do something wrong?

1: You need to understand a hex editor to be able to insert them. If you don't... Read KPhoenix's Hex Tutorial.
2: Have you ever read the Sprite Tool readme? It specifically states that you must:
a: Go into Sprite Editing Mode in LM.
b: Press the insert key.
c: In the first box, type the number of the sprite you want (Look in all.txt for those). In the box that asks for a number from 0-3, type 2 if you want the extra bit to not be set, and 3 if you DO want it set (Again, read the readme. Open the .asm file (Sprites directory) of the sprite you want and look at the top. If it says "Uses first Extra Bit: YES", it'll tell you what new behavior this sprite will have. Again, 2 if you don't want this behavior, 3 if you do.
d: Click okay. Now set the sprite where you want it. Just remember that the sprite WILL NOT LOOK RIGHT IN LM! This includes the positioning. Unfortunately, it's hard to judge with looks alone. For example, if you choose Venus Fire Trap as your custom sprite, and the sprite description gives that of a wave-motion Eerie (This is normal, so don't be alarmed), place the sprite a bit below where you'd normally place it. Say you want it to come out of a pipe. Put the sprite right on the left cap of the pipe. Simple.
3: Look at Page 0x4 for the pipes. Keep going until you find them, okay?
