You can try ordering it online. My parents are planning on doing that for me because we tried to put it on layaway at Wal-mart yesterday when they did have some on stock but they sold out fast. They started selling Wiis at 8am and were sold out 10 minutes later.  |

My dad was at some electronics store today, since the Wii is released in europa. They said they had gotten seven of them. I guess they were sold out pretty fast. 
I can't decide if it's alot or little... cause there's plent of electronics and videogame stores in that city. XD There were people lining up here as well, but I hadn't heard much about it.... eh I probably should watch the news and see. (edited by Ailure on 12-08-06 03:48 PM) |

| Ok so I got my Wii yesterday (they came out last Friday in the UK) I got mine mail order with just Wii sports. The question is what game(s) do I get for Christmas wish list? Zelda I guess as it's a triple A title - any other ideas? I like the idea of Red Steal but the reviews say it's cack. | |||

| Yeah, I'm not sure about Red Steel. I've always thought it looked interesting to play, but its probably just worth a rent since its gotten medicore reviews -everywhere-.
Honestly I played a bit of ExciteTruck at a friends and thought it was pretty awesome. It definitely has a learning curve to it, but so will tons of Wii games I'm sure. It was really fun though once you got the hang of things, and is probably the best Wii game I've played after Zelda. The Rayman game isn't bad if you know you'll be playing a lot with friends often. It puts the Wiimote and the Nunchuck to a lot of use, since the game itself is just like 100 minigames. DBZ Tenkaichi 2 is impossible to play with the Wii controls. But you can play with GC controllers, but I still haven't put in the effort to get into it even though I enjoyed the first. I guess look into this game if you enjoy fighters. | I've tried it out and it's okay. The simpler games get pretty old quickly when playing alone, but they're fun with other people. Some of the more complex, single player games are fun at first, but the motions needed to play get boring, repetitive, tedious... It gets annoying enough that I'd rather use a normal controller that only required button pushing.
Traffic is a poor excuse for the connection issues with the shopping channel. If people are paying to download things, companies should do what they can to forsee something like heavy traffic and work on preventing it from happening. That's one reason why some people prefer Guild Wars over World of Warcraft. The multiplayer games are fun, but I don't think it's really worth buying a console to play them. I am surprised at what Nintendo has done. Not much has really changed from when people were laughing at their new controller to now. They did a great job with hype, convincing the right people. I do think that with time, though, the Wii will be like another N64. |

I just think that the Wii is mediocre because what makes it special isn't so special. The technology is old, and will eventually get old to the player. I think that the Wii will be able to hold over children and fanboys for a while, but the more mature audience will soon be looking for something more powerful. When people are over the "newness" of motion sensing, they will be back to looking for superior sound and graphics, as both can improve in the current generation. Edit: Think of DDR, Donkey Konga, or Guitar Hero. The Wii is kind of like those games. Gemeplay is the focus of games, not graphics, not sound, if you aren't bored of generic FPS by now, but you're calling Guitar Hero or DDR old, then well, you have a pretty big problem. |

Intresting that they actually do this, I guess they got tired on all reports of broken equipment from over-excited players.  Nice taht they offer replacment for free though. |
