I just used the Bouncing Turn Block (The description says, "A turn block you can bounce off of from the side...?") for the first time, but I noticed that the sprite it creates (at least, I THINK it's a sprite- Its tiles are in GFX01, after all) is the P (Or POW) Switch GFX. Is there any way I can remap the tiles either of these uses? Since the hack I placed them in uses SMAS-SMB3 GFX, I want the block to look exactly like that fun block in SMB3 that you could bounce off of (and it sometimes gave you a Super Leaf). I already have the Block GFX right, but this is bugging me a little bit. Can someone help me here?

In a Hex Editor go to x113F4 and remap to whatever you want. You may also want to change the palette/attributes (x1098C).

Okay, thanks! I'm not planning on using Berries in this hack, so what would I replace 42 with to place it where the Berry Sprite is? (I'm not exactly familiar with how this stuff works, so I just place whatever people tell me to put. XD)

(Also, I'm looking for Lunar Address so I can check something, but I couldn't find it at SMWCentral, and I forgot FuSoYa's website. XD Does anyone remember what it is?)

The berry tile is 80. To see what the number is for any given tile, open up Lunar Magic's 8 x 8 tile editor and put your mouse over it. Down at the bottom it'll give you an address such as 0x2E2. Just use the last two digits when you're remapping stuff.

So, I place 80 in the place of the 42? Sweet. Thanks a lot! NOW I understand more about how to remap GFX! Now all I really need to know is exactly where everything is. XD But I can find that out later. No sense in learning now when I might not be needing it.

Uh-oh... Remapping it didn't work, for some reason. It STILL has the same tiles... I'm going to try remapping it again, in case I accidentally opened up the wrong file....

Edit: Oh yeah, by the way, the only thing that the remapping did was remap the sprite used by the Bouncing Turn Block. XD I'll switch the GFX around. That should fix it. ...Unless the Bouncing Turn Block is supposed to use the P Switch GFX. O_o

Ahaha, this reminds me, in my Stupid Powerup patch, I remapped the P switch so it was a ! Switch. There are 4 colors based on the X position and depending on which switch you hit, the ! blocks responded in turn. Good times.

If you download the patch and open a patched rom in LM, you can try it out. I forgot all about it up until now.

Yeah, that's supposed to remap the bounce block sprite instead of the P-Switch. You want your wood block graphics where your berries used to be.

New question: At x1098C, what hex number should I use to make the Bouncing Block sprite use Palette 6? I don't want to have to make the sprite be red or blue (because it uses Palette 8, the last 8 colors of it, and Palette 8 only has red and blue for Mario to use), I want it to have the original colors. At x1098C, all I see is...

00 01 07 00

What would I change there to get Palette 6?

A sprite can't use palette 6. They can only use palettes 8-F. We're still talking about the wood block, right? Just fill it in with the brown from Mario's shoes instead of the red and blue of his clothes.
