Yeah, so far I've seen two friends slam their hands into a couch, pretty good too.

I'm sure I can expect more funnies with Wii parties to come.

Hm, what I really want to know is are the Wiimotes surviving this abuse? Nintendo's history shows they should, but after the N64 and Gamecube's controllers... :-/

It's nearly impossible to find a Wii these days. All these crazy ticket schemes, you know. I doubt we'll be able to get one until demand is finally satisfied.

Yeah, every story I've heard online has said the controller was fine. Even if it flew apart.

Remember when people flushed Game Boy Advances, and they still worked?

Edit: Japanese VC tour. They've got a lot more than us at the moment.

I actually had two Wiis for a while. I signed up for a service that monitors online retailers and alerts you as soon as they add stock. Twenty minutes after I signed up I go an alert for a bundle at Walmart.com, I bought it but later changed my mind and canceled it because I wasn't that interested in the games that were bundled with it.

A few days later I got one as Christmas gift from a friend who had went into Wal-Mart looking for one just when they got an order in. Then a few days after that a Wii came in the mail. I checked walmart.com, and for some reason only the games had canceled and they had still sent the Wii. So I called them up and they said that if I brought it into the store they would refund my purchase price and shipping (although I had to argue with the store manager on the second point).

I still get several alerts a day from that monitoring service.

I got the Wii so I could play first party Nintendo games. The motion sensor controller isn't a that big of a deal to me, I'd actually rather just sit still to play a game.

Also, I don't even use the wrist strap. Just seems silly.

Even if you are a sane, intelligent person who doesn't need the wrist strap, you'd better keep it on, because the person to your left who doesn't have a Wii isn't going to if you don't, and they may break stuff.

Heh, that's sad.

I never thought of intoxicated people playing it, it indeed could be a bad idea. And the wrist strap is kinda comfortable, so I'll definately wear it. I reeeeaaaallllyyyy can't wait to make my Mythbusters, Dr. Phil, and Hank Hill Miis....

A lot of those images are obvious fakes because the TV is still on. A CRT would pretty much implode, and an LCD/plasma would pour all over the place. Not entirely sure about a projection TV (which aren't designed for games anyway) but I doubt they'd still be displaying a picture with a giant fucking hole in the screen either.

Wii Swiss Launch is coming near. Tomorrow Night, I will not be online.. waiting for Wii in line (The second time in Switzerland, that a console is sold out at its PAL-Release before it is released !)

Attached some Images
- One is my first Wii-Game and the first Wii-Purchase of a PAL-Wii-Game in Switzerland (Or at least Zürich)
- The second is the European Demo Kiosk. Nice, isn't it?

Please excuse the image quality, but the only alternative I have is my GBCamera ^^

I guess we could be taking turns, but I normally just find that annoying and would rather they just play by themselves, in which case they wouldn't be watching how I hold the controller.

Then again, I don't really know anyone with the right combination of poor grip and lack of common sense that they could actually break something with a game controller. And if I did I wouldn't let them anywhere near my stuff.

I've heard stories about people getting black eyes, breaking glass, and even breaking a TV.

The best stories are still the ones when I get a grp of people in the store telling me the things they've done to get a Wii. Don't these people have jobs/school?

If I had a job, I might consider to call in sick just to try pulling this off at least once in my life.

However, since i'm in college I rather not miss a few lectures, considering how much we learn in so little time now. xD

Here we go, Cons:

I wanted to test the shop channel so I connected; I have gotten about 7-10 server errors by now, when I was downloading a game just to see how it works, the game download froze and it said to try again, and no matter how many times I try it wont download it (1000 points wasted).

Updating = Very slow

I'm not sure if those errors have to do with the big problem with Puerto Rico's Internet connections...

I didn't have many problems with the shopping channel last night. Only one disconnect (I wanted to list all VC-Titles).
