Oh yeah, I remember him. Kansas State gets a ROFLisberger (just because) in quarterback development. (Hey, I harbor an irrational fandom for Jared Lorenzen. I KNOW THESE THINGS.)

Speaking of the Raiders (thanks for the segue way, Dr_Death!) Tyler Brayton got fined $25K after kneeing Jerramy Stevens in the junk near the end of their game Sunday night. Brayton got the hook, but Stevens didn't get off said hook either; he got nailed for $15,000 because he started it. By trying to kick Brayton in the sack. Don't they wear cups on the field?

Stevens is a piece of shit. There is nothing redeeming about him. He's was the worst TE in his draft, he has poor hands, and he's a dirty player. They should just kick him out of the league.

What's worse is that everyone knows it, and all the players say it (despite there usually being a "player's code" about these sort of things). I still say they should've both been suspended for making a bad Monday Night Football game even worse.

I say in the next game, when he runs a drag across the middle, Will Witherspoon or someone fucks his shit up, and takes care of what the league should have done, him being on his ass.

So, would the 2006 Oakland Raiders be one of the worst teams ever?

The Texans beat the raiders 23-14 despite having -5 passing yards and outgained in total yards by a 3-to-1 margin

What a crazy week in football... who's this Reggie Bush guy scoring 4 TD's this week? Also, New Orleans is looking like a playoff team more and more each week, which is shocking to me considering how bad I thought their defense was last year.

By the way, I think the Raiders could have went 0-16 if not for their defense, which has a few guys who can play (and salvage them from the depths of futility) such as Derrick Burgess and Kirk Morrison. Hell, they won that game vs. Pittsburgh by themselves a while back.

OVER/UNDER!

How many years did the Bears/Vikings game set back the position of quarterback? The line's at 17.5.

The Sack Master, aka David Carr had -4 fantasy points, as compared to The Gross Man's -6.

Absolutely incredible.

Lost... KC is fairly good but they still have to watch out. I think we're at 7-5 in AFC West.

Too bad the Chargers have the AFC pretty much wrapped up (a win this weekend guarantees a tie). LaDainian is hitting his stride at just the right time too..

KC is good, but Denver is better. They're just in a small skid right now. But who knows.

All I know, is that the AFC is totally dominating the NFC. If the Chargers or Colts played in the NFC, one would be undefeated, and anyone can quote me on that.

Your equation of the day: LT=New single season TD record holder

The Chargers won the AFC West, too, not to mention.

Lamar Hunt, the owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, died late this evening. He was 74. Just calling him the owner of the Chiefs kind of sells his legacy short, as he had his hands in the creation of the American Football League (which became the AFC), his daughter came up with the name of the Super Bowl, co-founded the World Championship Tennis circuit (giving us the Open era in tennis), did plenty for soccer in the US (owned the Dallas Tornado of the North American Soccer League, as well as the MLS's Columbus Crew, FC Dallas, and Kansas City Wiz(ards), financed the Columbus Crew Stadium, the first major soccer-only stadium in the US, he was inducted into the US Soccer Hall of Fame in 1992) and even had a hand in bringing the NHL to Columbus (although he was bumped out of the group before they were awarded the team). He died after a two-year battle with cancer.

And the playoffs are set, as follows:

Wild Card Matchups

Chiefs @ Colts 1/6/07 4:30 ET on NBC
Cowboys @ Seahawks 1/6/07 1:00 EST on Fox
Jets @ Patriots 1/7/07 1:00 EST on CBS
Giants @ Eagles 1/7/707 4:30 EST on NBC

The Saints, Bears, Chargers, and Ravens all have first round byes, with the Bears and Chargers having home field advantage throughout the playoffs as well.

Here's a bracket to make it easier

Anyone up for some predictions?

AFC:
WC: Colts over Chiefs
Patriots over Jets

Divisional: Chargers over Patriots
Ravens over Colts

AFC Championship: Chargers over Ravens

NFC:
WC: Giants over Eagles
Cowboys over Seahawks

Divisional: Bears over Giants
Cowboys over Saints

NFC Championship: Cowboys over Bears

Super Bowl: Chargers over Cowboys

I hate to pick the Cowboys, but hell, someone has to win the NFC.

I noticed I didn't get much right in my early pre-season predictions, but I did pick the MVP.

Who called it?!?

And, I found an applet that helps you pick a team to root for in the playoffs if your team is eliminated. I got the Saints

CB Darrent Williams was shot and killed in a drive-by incident in his limousine early today. He was developing into a good corner there in Denver, too. No motive yet, but I'm sure there's more to this. Anyhow, here's the story and also, R.I.P.

Javon Walker, who was riding alongside Darrent Williams. The irony is Williams was on his way back home to warn kids about getting involved in drugs and gangs (back in the day, he had friends who were associates of the Crips, but he got away from that). Nothing to say besides it's senseless.

I've always thought about renaming it from "AFC Championship" to "Superbowl"
:p

on another note, none of the teams I was rooting for even made it in the playoffs. I'm seeing either the ravens or the chargers in the superbowl (that'll be a good game in the AFC championship) and either the cowboys or the bears (if rexie ever gets his shit together). I'd have to say I wouldn't be suprised at all if it was the ravens and the cowboys, or the chargers and the cowboys.
