If anyone wants to try it out, the Japanese version of VI Advance has been dumped.

I'm still plodding through V Advance but I have way too many things on my plate.

I love teaching my White Mage barehanded. It makes it a little less useless than normal. ^^

teach it Two-Handed and give it a Morningstar. That'd work better, since those work in the back row. If you're not far enough to have that, a Flail works.

Of course, giving it Black or Time Magic (Time when you have Comet) works better, but...

I did an obscenely high amount of leveling certain jobs (for me at least) and beat this game in a week. Mastered Thief, Monk, and Ninja on every character, Black Mage on Lenna, RM/BM on Faris, and Ranger on Butz (I prefer the other, yet badly thought up name) and Krile/Galuf. Also gave the two mages the usual array of magics, but only BM needs mastered. Dished out punishment on Neo-Exdeath, as I only got hit about once, with an Almagest. I don't know if it was just my levels or something else that made the final boss so much easier for me. Overall, the port was good; the character portraits were, as Kail said, a bit weird for those who have played the game before, as the characters don't really match them; but I liked most of the redone sound and the translation was great. Kudos to Square for this (FF IV Advance port set the bar pretty low here in the States).

I didn't find many things wrong with IV but I was lucky enough not to run into a lot of the bugs I guess.

As long as they didn't rush out VI, it should be fine.

The battle system was really buggy... characters could get two turns or no turns at all at times during battle. Also, when flying the airship around the world, you have to get around particularly slowly and other small things like that. It was fixed in the EUR version, which is the ROM version anyone should get as opposed to the US version for these same reasons.

I never noticed that but that might be because I was always in good shape level-wise for each battle.

The airship bug seemed like Square Enix didn't know how to convert Mode 7 to the GBA at first.
