That's a cute comic strip, and IT workers the world over will identify with it.

Ypu've sort of confused me really, but possibly it's because I'm a lay person - in your "Aeris Ballpoint pen" thread you say that you've had trouble conveying emotion in your pics, but in this strip - even though it's simple you've succeeded in displaying her increasing frustration - what is that if oit's not an emotion?

Well, I seem to be able to convey very simple emotion; in a fairly simple overly cartoony style (see strip), but not in a more detailed/serious level... :-/

And yeah, today was quite frustrating. I don't wanna go to work tomorrow

I can identify with that. That's usually how my day goes at work, too.
You did a good job with the emotions, as Elmo said. And... I hope work is better for you tomorrow.

Wow! Looks like you dug yourself out of your problems afterall!
As usual, very nice! Maybe if you continue making these comics you'll be as good as Bleedman.

But Bleedman is completely unable to make the characters he uses act in character, and as a result, his work - while not without its own style (which I don't like, but that's not my point) - comes across as nothing more than bad fanfiction. Saying maybe she'll be as good as Bleedman is the equivalent of saying someday her work will be rather poor.

On Bleedman -- His art style is VERY cute. His storylines.... very strange. Entertaining, yes, but in more of a 'bad fanfiction' or 'soap-opera" way than I think he intends it to be.

But if I were to do Comic work, Bleedman is certainly not who I aspire to be. I much more admire artists like Gabe of Penny Arcade, or the guy from VGCats. I guess to an extent I admire artists that I can spot constant improvement in their work and/or are funny.

Blah, and I don't want to go to work today. I don't know how long I can keep up that first-panel cheeriness

If I ever made a own online comic, I probably would strive for something like vgcats... in terms of humour, that's it.

And eh... all I can say is... Where is the any key?

I actually have some useful critique!

Just my own little pet peeve about speech bubbles... The "arrow" (or whatever you want to call it) coming out of them should actually point at the person speaking, preferably in the direction of their mouth.

Probably, but considering I was doing this on the end of Panel 4 (ie, I was absolutely fucked) I'd had enough of fiddling with things and just threw it together.

All artwork I do after a day of work by default has corners significantly cut. After THIS week, even more so

That's not exactly the most... DESIREABLE quality in an artist, you know.

As a matter of fact it's very, very bad.

Bad lazy. Bad bad.

Yeah, but I'm not exactly in the mood to spend hours and hours on something after an 9 hour day + 1 hour bus ride (each way) + cooking dinner + doing dishes + washing and ironing, etc either. It's not so much laziness for laziness sake, but rather pure exhaustion.

Besides, I'm sure those who make webcomics on a daily basis either cut corners or have developed clever time saving tips when they do this stuff; whereas that is my first ever comic strip of any sort and I have not had time to work out all the time-savers/tips/shortcuts yet.

I did work out how to make a bunch of really cluttered and awful layers though So if I do this again I need to work neater layers-wise or I get too easily frustrated right now.

I'm itching for holidays; the longer I go without any kind of a break (I am not entitled to any kind of leave thanks to that surgery earlier this year using it all up) the more mentally lazy / irritable / corner cutting I get in my non work-related life too....

Sometimes working on things while being lazy makes you come up with some good things. Only if you like work on them from time to time to fix things about it and such. None of my drawings are done in a day unless they're doodles that I don't care for. Oh and you work nine hours Taryn just be glad you don't work twelve hours like my boyfriend does when he has to work. I honestly didn't think fire fighters had to work that long of a day.
