You know how ridiculous you sound right now? I'm laughing in here. You honestly think I'm going to curse you when I get out? CURSE you? Well, I did plan on doing SOMETHING to you, but it's not so much a curse as a... Kirby: Aha! Black Box: It's a really wonderful ability that will allow you to do stuff, even allow you to go to special places! Doesn't that sound nice? Kirby: Whatever. 
Kirby places Yami outside of the shack. He also placed a glowing pair of antennae on the Yoshi just incase Yami decides to crawl away. He then takes out the black key and unlocks the chest. The chest explodes as the entire room goes black. Horror-fying organ music begins to play as a pair of glowing eyes and sharp teeth emerge from the center of the darkness. Black Chest: WHEEE HEE! FOOOOOOLS! Malicious Looking Face: What were you expecting? Did you think a lovely lady with a beautiful azure aura about her would pop out or something? Kirby: Okay, that's hitting below the belt. Malicious Looking Face: Now I'm going to hit you with the king of curses, the cursiest curse ever! Kirby: I'm supposed to make up words, here! Malicious Looking Face: Fear my terrible power! You will know the pain of being able to fold up paper to form solid shapes! BE CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURSED! Three flashes of blinding light came out of nowhere. Kirby, who was already used to it, just stood by with a rather dull look on his face. Malicious Looking Face: Whee hee hee hee hee! Now you're cursed, loser! Savor your suffering! Whee hee hee hee! Your suffering amuses me! And so I laugh! Whee hee hee hee! Your pathetic misery thrills me to the core! I leave you to suffer, fools! Kirby: .... Whatever. You happy, Melvin? |

| The dull look on Kirby's face was still there.
Kirby: ... All of you are in here? I thought someone would've atleast stayed out there. I mean.. this is a tiny little shack.
He stepped outside, and looked for Yami. As expected, the baby Yoshi wasn't there. He looked on the dusty ground for tracks, and noticed there wasn't any crawling marks. Kirby: Ohh! Yami's walking! And I didn't get to see it when he first started! But.. uh.. let's see.. where did.. Kirby looked around and finally saw where Yami was. He was heading towards a dark tree. Kirby smiled. Kirby: Good thing I put those antennaes on him... Those four glowing bulbs defini.. Crap! There was only an afterimage left of Kirby inside the shack as the spikey headed lad bolted off towards Yami. Kirby scooped Yami up into his arms, and kept himself hunched over. He let out a slight yelp as he felt several sharp claws digging into his body. A moment later, he grunted as he left into the air, with a trail of dark ooze dripping off of him. The moment he landed onto the ground, he ran back to the shack. Kirby: *pant pant* You guys... I thought atleast one of you.. *pant pant* would've taken notice... |

| Kirby shot Melvin a fierce glare.
Kirby: You don't understand, Melvin. I'm not angry about Yami.. The spikey headed lad points over at the inky puddles slowly oozing across the dusty grounds. The gooey shadows crept out from behind the trees, bushes and even around the little shack. Figures emerged from the puddles, forming tiny, shadowy bodies. The figures had rather small bodies, probably stood three feet tall. Their bodies consisted of the main torso, two thin legs and feet, two thing arms with sharp fingers on the hands, and a head with two glowing dots for eyes and a pair of long antennae. Their apperance was quite fitting for the surroundings. Kirby: Or are you trying to tell me you didn't notice these things attacking me when I ran to the tree? |

| Grey: "I could have told you that!"
Outside the shack, the only person who hadn't gone in was slowly revealing the reason why. His baseball bat flashing left and right, Grey was swinging wildly at a detachment of the small Shadows, who felt that a few moments ago was exactly the right time to strike out at him, and him in particular. Though there were no more than ten of the creatures swarming around him, they melded into the shadows of the already dark wooded path and obscured his vision. He made a big swing to his right, and a lucky shot caught several of the creatures square in the torso. They flew outward and slammed into the earth, exploding into inky blackness. Grey held out his bat, and as it disappeared into nothing the Heartless looked at him for a moment and backed off. Grey took the opportunity to run straight into the shack, blowing past Kirby and seeking shelter inside its ominous cracks. "Hoo... Safe. Anyway..." He shook his head, and pointed at the Tricorder. "That thing can spout off all it wants about those things... But it'll never really know everything about them. No one will. In fact, all I know is that they're attracted to the cleanest and purest hearts around, which would make perfect sense in this case. They went for Yami first, since he's still just an infant. What's worse, their Darkness aspect means my abilities won't work on them. Doesn't mean they'll stand up to a fierce beating, though. There are other things they're attracted to, too... But that doesn't matter right now. Yami will probably be their biggest target." Grey slumped down against one of the shack's walls. He was beginning to get tired of all of this fighting. The others blinked. Well, the ones who weren't too busy fighting, anyway. Jack: We've had three seperate accounts telling us these are beings of darkness. Our eyes, the tricorder, and Grey. We should not overlook that the element that defines my power-- IS LIGHT! Suddenly, Jack's body began emiting a strong white (slightly eye-hurting) light, which engulfed the entire area. Troy's hand flashed out and the Chronicle appeared in his hands. He reached back, looking ready to lunge into the crowd of shadows - but instead jammed it into the ground immediately in front of Jack, causing the pack of Heartless to jump back and reform in a group that looked like they wanted to get nowhere near the weapon. Troy : Alright... work your magic. |

| Jack picked up the keyblade with his left hand, and it too began to emit light. He held his right hand in the air, and the light he was emitting bent to form a sword of solid light, as it did back in Chapter 1. The amount of light emiting from his body had dimmed a little, but it was still enough to illuminate the area much better than a spotlight.
Jack: ...And he saw the light, and it was good. With that, Jack began to fly around the area at such a speed that he was simply a blur. Everywhere that the blur went, the Heartless were instantly sliced in two. In an instant they were all gone, and Jack stopped, standing in the exact same place he was before he started. Jack: Thanks. *tosses the keyblade back to Troy* |

Kirby looked around at the dissolving mess of Heartless. He closed his eyes for a moment, and breathed slowly. He could feel the beings of darkness sinking away. Kirby: I don't think we'll have to worry about them for a while... But I still find it odd that these creatures were here. Teddylot: Maybe they heard there was a piggy barbeque. Kirby: We're saving those people, Teddylot, not cooking them
The spikey headed lad started to walk forward, hoping to continue on with the quest. Kirby: But that was certainly out of the ordinary.. And Grey, I think Yami's not the only one here that could attract the Heartless... |

He stares at the last remaning fruit pie longingly, then immediately runs off and hides behind a tree, whereup he squats down, rips off the wrapper, and devours the snack, nibbling at it hurriedly like some kind of woodland creature. | |||

Kirby: ... Er.. thanks. 
Kirby looks at the fruit pies. He hands one of the fruit pies over to Yami, and then begins scarfing down on another. Kirby: Hey, running that fast took a lot of energy out of me.
He continues walking deeper into the woods, and pocketed one of the fruit pies. With the final snack, he hurls the tasty treat far enough to almost reach the end of the dark woods. All of a sudden, a rather large Heartless creature appeared. It had long arms and stubby feet. Kirby: What do you know.. Melvin was right... Or.. is that really a Heartless? He pulled the pocketed fruit pie out and glanced at it. A soft light appeared on his hand, which blessed the snack with light. A moment later, he hurled the fruit pie across the forest, flushing out the shadows from the trees for just a moment. The large, round Heartless that had appeared was then plastered in the face by what could be called a holy treat. Light exploded off its face, clearing its head right off. The rest of the body toppled over and, with the head, exploded into an inky mist. Kirby: I guess it was a Heartless... Stepping further, one could see a set of gates. Beyond the gates was a lonely mansion on top of a hill. It was still too far to see the bell, but it had rang once again, signalling another poor soul being turned into a Swinub. Kirby: Alright, guys. Start making your guesses. What surprise are we going to see at that house, if all this craziness keeps up? |
