| And Ohio State retains its #1 ranking, reaping revenge on the Longhorns. It looked extremely close until Laurinaitis forced that fumble inside our own 5 yard line. After that, it was our game to lose. Which we didn't.
Also, both Iowa and Penn State, the two teams we were most worried about (besides the team up north, of course) didn't look anything like they should. Granted, Drew Tate was out, but still.... Syracuse? |

Iowa vs. Syracuse  Syracuse had 7 tries to get into the end zone and they couldn't  Even though Iowa won they game, their ranking is going to fall. |

| You should've seen the 7 penn state fans at the sports bar we were at during that game. Before the game they were talking all this trash, but afterwards I don't think any of the 100+ nd students (not including alums and regular fans) there could hear one bit of their tears. I love how we looked that last game, actually showed a semblance of an offence, unlike the first game. And Tommy Z [youtube video], god, what a badass [more youtube]. In case you didn't know he had a boxing match [google video] which pretty much shows why there should be a rule saying that Tommy Z is not allowed to stiff arm anyone, for fear of death to the opposing player. Anyways, definately think good things are on the way for this season, and seeing how OSU handled Texas, I'm gonna stick with my prediction of a ND v OSU rematch in the Fiesta Bowl come January. Ah, college football, nothing better. | |||

BTW, you know what won't happen, but would be amazing? OSU goes undefeated Michigan goes undefeated Everyone else gets a loss OSU v Michigan is a #1 vs. #2 game OSU wins OSU plays in the title game OSU wins 3 #1 vs. #2 games in one season. That would be the best thing ever. |

| Michigan goes undefeated
I've had a premonition that Michigan State will defeat Michigan this weekend. In fact I thought it had already happened until I checked out espn a minute ago. MSU has lost to big M 4 years in a row, and with their current 2 loss streak, they need to dig themselves out of this hole and I think it would be the perfect time to mount a combeback in their season. I think it's a long shot though... Lloyd Carr is an excellent coach. |

| LSU vs. Florida on Saturday; what a huge game, it could end up deciding a national championship contender (and almost certainly directly affect the race for the SEC title). I'm thinking that the Tigers have it, Jamarcus Russell and that defense should be enough, and Urban Meyer playing games at QB (putting Tebow in the game in favor of a great senior in Chris Leak) is bound to catch up with him soon enough. | |||

| Heheh... seems I was wrong about MSU beating Michigan. Michigan might be #1 this year if this keeps up. They play some really hardcore football, imo. As for MSU, they will facing #1 Ohio State at home next week. With 4 straight losses in sight, I don't know how Drew Stanton will respond. | |||

| This season's so depressing. Notre Dame is winning, but not very impressively, and our one loss, unlike last year, was a devastating blow out that made us look like a bunch of chumps. I do have one thing to be happy for and that's Cal. They're doing a lot better since getting trashed by the Vols. They've scored 40+ in every game since and their game against Oregon was the closest game they've had since Tenn (Call won by 21 points). I still think Oregon's a good team, it'll be interesting to see if USC can weather the storm of ND, Cal and Oregon. I guess there's one other good thing about this season, as long as ND wins out we're guarunteed a BCS game (cause come on, you really think a one loss ND team is not going to the BCS, gotta love the fact that we have the best in on the BCS of any team).
Gotta give props to Ohio State, they're playing some crazy good football right now, most deserving number one ranking of any team I've seen in a long time. And I gotta say, Troy Smith, damn, he's stepped up from last year. He was really good last year, but I never would've considered him Heisman worthy, he just didn't have that something else that was required of it. But this year, he just steps up when he needs to, it's really impressive. The funny thing about his stats this year is they definately aren't the highest of the qbs in the hunt, but he usually ends up with around 200, a lot of times below that mark, just because they jump up on teams and he gets to sit out the entire fourth.
