Happy 10th birthday, N64! Along with that, Super Mario 64 as well.

Let us not forget all of the good times it brought us, and some of the bad too *coughglovercough*. Let us not forget all of the theories and conspiracies it shared, good and bad. But most of all, let us not forget the countless hours we spent playing in a poorly rendered 3D arena with up to four people, and rimble pak support.

There's a lot of bad things out there that make Glover look like a great game, me thinks.

Funny how those "poorly rendered" arenas were an integral part of two of the most popular games on the console, both by Rare.

Oh it's a great game. Whenever the DS version is on sale here for under $20 I'll probably end up picking it up.

I've also been playing through Rayman 2 on and off over the past little while... not bad. Not bad at all.

I actually like the DS remake a bit better than the original, but not enough to put the original out to pasture quite yet. Maybe when the Wii comes, then I can put the N64 to rest; solid-state should work far better than cartridges that don't load properly 90% of the time

Oh, have you checked for used copies of SM64DS? I got mine for $10 used, and the person who returned it also returned the box and manuals; funny, most of the time they only return the cartridge and none of the rest.

I actually find Super Mario 64 DS a lot easier than the original game. It's probably because I abuse Luigi's helicopter spin too much to get stars.

I still have yet to get all the stars in the N64 version. I think I barely have a little over 70 the last time I check. I do have all 150 stars on the DS version and I've done it twice already. I should start playing Super Mario 64 again sometime.

Happy 10th birthday N64!

Wow, I feel old now. I remember being hyped up for its release for something like two years as it got delayed and delayed and delayed.

My N64 has easily, hands-down brought me more tears of joy for me than any other gaming machine. By sheer numbers, my N64 dwarfs any other console Ive owned. Games owned, games completed, games completed with 100%, hours played, late-night multiplayer matches...My Gamecube/Xbox numbers don't even come close to my N64 numbers.

Super Mario 64, legendary. Super Mario Kart 64, instant classic. Goldeneye, surprise phenomenon. Perfect Dark, crams so much damn goodness into a N64 cartridge its unbelievable. Super Smash Bros, multiplayer God of a game. Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie, actually rival and compete with Super Mario 64 in terms of quality gameplay. Star Fox 64, such crazy high quality graphics/sound/gameplay, still considered best 3D vehicle shooter.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Majoura's Mask. Considered best games ever.

I have lots more personal preference games that I could list, but no one can deny the aforementioned list as anything but Legendary Videogame Goodness.

Its going to be absolutely wonderful, when a whole new generation of gamers discover these superb games thru the Wii's Virtual console system. If these games' multiplayer features are online-enabled..Its going to be wonderful being able to destroy these newcomers in Super Smash.

Very Happy Birthday N64!!

I didn't like a lot of the changes made in SM64DS, but that's not really the topic here... anyway, N64 is awesome and I still play some of those games *cough*DiddyKongRacing*cough* fairly often. I've been meaning to play through Banjo-Kazooie again but I can't find the damn thing.

That was good 3D at the time, sure. Looking back, not so much comparing it to games released today.

I absolutely despised glover. I got really pissed off at the prehistoric levels and really never played it again. The game I most remember playing was Goldeneye. I noticed a bunch of the beta stuff before I found out what it really was on the internet. Then there was Pokemon Stadium. That's the game I got my N64 with. Of course, I was like 9, and Pokemon was godlike to me. I think it was a good idea, but it got completely ruined by the card game and TV show.
