1. More smilies, like on IB
2. I know this has been mentioned before, but in the profile editor, a username editor? Now I know it would get crazy if everyone was constantly changing their names, but what if you had to earn that privilege? Like... an approval thing in General Chat, but a lot stricter? Or maybe certain conditions have to be met before they can get that? Because I hate having to bug admins everytime I want I name change, so I don't. I just think it would make it easier for some of the more... "advanced-mature-whatever" members. (Oh, great users. Couldn't think of the word.) |

While I don't like the idea of Username editor, but if we had one, I think it'd be better, that you'd have to have like 200 posts or something to be allowed to do that.

We have enough smilies as it is, we don't need fifteen more holding up various signs saying "what".

What other smilies are necessary? When I think of places like IB who have a ton of smilies, I think of this:
Seriously, what's this crap about? Edit: I started this post before anyone else replied and got distracted. I'm not trying to repeat anyone. (edited by Yoshi Dude on 09-25-06 11:44 PM) |

I'm seriously against the name thing. Allowing users to change their names whenever they want might'swell just be asking for trouble and confusion.

Originally posted by XkeeperOriginally posted by Yoshi Dude =D=D=D=D As for the name changing, egh. Yeah its not the best idea. However something we have on my board that might be nice here, is name change history in a users profile. Just a page that shows a users past names, whats its been changed to, etc. I've never really been confused by names, in the few years of my messageboarding adventures. I usually can define users by layouts, avatars, posts, and whatnot pretty easily. But yeah, I guess it can confuse a lot of people from what I've seen. |

A lot of people don't have all of those enabled, though; I have avatars off at the moment, for example.

I'd suggest at least allowing LMs and FMs to change their own names. LMs are assigned to specific forums and there's not many FMs, so there wouldn't be much confusion from that.

How about making an name change button that when used will send an request to an special admin only page. Then the admins only have to choose yes or no and if yes is pressed it will get changed, And nothing happening if no is pressed..... And an ban button beside it just incase.

Well, what about letting an user change his/her name every six months? Sounds fair...

Personally, I think the emoticons are more than sufficient to cover the emotions of the poster... what else do you even think you need? Perhaps you wish to add animated emoticons with embedded sound that yell "exp |

Ah, like these?:
Anyway, I could understand a "MORE SMILIES" petition back on the UBB times when we weren't allowed to post images so we had to use smilies and the more the better. But here, you can use all the smilies you want just, don't be lazy and put the image of the smilie |
