Whee... I've only recently gotten home from my evening exercise.

After work, I've been getting off the train or tram a fair way from my home, and walking around 5.5km home. Today I walked 6km home But overall I've had a quieter week this week than last week (because at the end of last week I had a 12km walk in an annual event here)

I think the recent increase in the distance I walk might be why my weight is fluctuating so much at the moment too But my pants aren't getting tighter (aside from me going down a size) so it's all good

Just wondering, what exercise do you guys do on a daily basis?

An adult is supposed to get 30 minutes of exercise a day -- so what do you do to keep yourself fit?

0. Because I'm lazy and I've pretty much given up.

Honestly, at least before the move I would play DDR and walk for an hour about twice a week, but now.....meh.......

When I wake up I do as many sit-ups and pushups as I can. I also walk a lot.

During the summer, I usually went walking at the park. I walk for 3 laps around the park which is over 2 miles total.

Now that school has started, I don't walk as much anymore because I usually don't have time to do that.

I've been walking a lot too, between classes and such(on a different campus). Each walk is 1.77 miles and I walk 3 or 4 times. It's rather refreshing.

Alot of arm exercises.

1.) Arm Twist - Increases forearm mass and hand-grip
-I close my fists, lock my arms straight (like Frankenstein), then twist my wrists. My right wrist moves clockwise and my left moves counter-clockwise. Try doing more than 8,000 reps, that's my record. It is best to do these slowly if you want to build up and start with a set of 15 reps. It's not a bad thing to take a quick 2 minute break in between sets because your body needs to recover in order to keep the lean muscle mass. I do fast ones to warm up for my next exercise. Try doing this while you watch television.

2.) Arm Curl - Increases bicept mass
-This is where increased hand-grip comes to use. I do 15-20 reps starting with 15lb dumb-bells, then move up to 20lbs, then 25lbs.

Diet - Consists of meats and dairy. I eat 15 slices of deli meat AFTER exercising, with a vanilla protein shake. I also eat 4 cans of tuna a day for a snack and eggs for breakfast. Drink 3 shakes a day and while you're taking a break between sets, drink plenty of water! Water is your friend! Also, avoid potato chips, sodas or anything syrupy.

Rarely I lift 10 pound weights in what is a futile attempt to bulk up my otherwise toothpick self.

I like to jog alot, especially now, during the fall and winter, when it's cooled down. So i'm fit in that area at least.

I have been thinking about exercising. Since I am a student I can get a cheaper than normal membership at gym, but I just haven't gotten around to it.

Anyway, I do walk about 50 - 60 minutes a day, and sometimes more, and there is a steep hill both up to the university campus and up to where I live. So I suppose that is a form of exercise, but I still think I would benefit from going to a gym.

Eh. Last week I did sits up and pushups every night. Lately I have been unmotivated but soon enough I'll start again.

I'll probably continue that routine for a month or so then go back to lifting weights again.

I walk about an hour each day while carrying a 50 pound weight. On weekends, I head down to my apartment complex's gym and work out, doing a bunch of different exercises of the course of until I get tired (so about an hour).

I bike to work four days a week, and that's about half an hour each way. I play squash for a couple hours once a week. I also go climbing two or three times a week. Winter's coming, so soon I won't be biking, and then I'll step up the squash and climbing.

Exercise for me consists of the occasional game of DDR, lasertag, and not parking close to any building so I have to walk farther. Might explain why I can;t fit in my pants anymore....

I play squash too. That sport is so damn fun and it is really good for a lot of different muscle groups!

I fence! It's not much in the way of actual sporting, but there's a lot of physical activity involved in the practices. For one, holding a stance and a lunge requires a good bit of stamina when you're doing drills. A drill sequence for people on the team typically involves a few things:

We start by stretching every muscle in our legs and torso, and a few of the ones in our arms, as well. After that, we practice advances and retreats, which works the upper leg muscles and knees, as well as the torso in part (as you have to keep your torso straight in preparation for a lunge). Occasionally we do lunge drills, which help work the lower leg muscles and calves, as well as honing one's balance. After that is usually a series of situps, pushups, and leglifts (the fun kind where you lift both legs off the ground with your back perfectly flat). By the end of practice, I'm more worried about how sore I'm going to be the next day than about how precise my attacks and parries are...

I agree with Cruel Justice here; it's a terrible idea to drink any kind of soda at all while exercising. Anything carbonated in general makes you feel like you're eating mentos with your drink of choice while you're running and bouncing around like we do.

However, as an extension I must note that anything with a lot of processed sugar in it (energy drinks, even gatorade) is nowhere near as good for you as water, and is actually fairly unhealthy when consumed in the volumes that an athlete would require to replenish a fluid supply.

The trouble with a high-protein style of exercise and diet is that it builds muscle mass-- for sports like fencing where you need to be fast and lithe, a lot of bulky muscle mass serves only to make you heavier than you already are. Granted, you gain the ability to overpower your opponents, but it's also at a cost: A more precise player could destroy you easily via technical strikes.

Lately I've been doing Round and Round three days a week with a goal of completing Workout A with no breaks. Thus far, I can complete the 5, 6, and 7-rep rounds and most of the 8-rep round, and I do a total of ten chin-ups in each workout. After Round and Round, I do a hard 20-30 minutes on some cardio machine or another. I especially like the elliptical, but lately it's been the stairway to hell (basically a short down escalator) because the college kids are back in town, and sometimes I can't get a spot on an elliptical, even late at night.

I'm working up to commuting by bike five days a week. Thus far, I do at least two (except for this week because I've been sick ). It's not terribly difficult - it's just that that much biking is a much higher volume of aerobic activity that I'm accustomed to. Each way takes me about 30 minutes over mixed terrain, though the return trip is more downhill than the way to work. And contrary to certain people's opinions, biking sure as hell does count as a workout if you're pedaling quickly and/or pedaling uphill.

On days when I don't bike or do calisthenics, I get on a cardio machine at the gym. When this stupid cold goes away, I'm going to deadlift on one of my non-calisthenics days as well. Picking up heavy shit and putting it down is win.

I used to run and play kick ball/volley ball a lot a lot. That was a couple of years a go. Now I don't exercise very much, but I'm so petite and kind of scrawny so I guess it dosn't hurt me very much ._.
