You'll be hard pressed to find the first one; I was. The reason is simple: It was that good.

Yeah, I wasn't able to find the English version of this game anywhere. However, I was able to track down the Japanese version from YesAsia. I thought that I would have to wait 2 weeks to get it, but I should get it probably this Tues or Wed and I only ordered it on the 11th.

$59.99? That's evil.

...then again, sooner or later you will sell it and all will rejoice. (I'm also guessing if someone was stupid enough to trade it in, they'd get a decent price?)

Probably not, there's no such thing as a good trade in at gamestores. In my opinion ...

Anyways, Thex as I've said I've really been enjoying the game (here and the thread at XG), and I'd say the learning curve to the game is quite simple, its faster an easier to get into than most SRPG's I've played compared to FFT, the Tactics Ogre games, etc. I knew only enough about the first game to see returning (main) characters, but I've heard you'll miss out on some of the connections and continueing jokes.

Still, as some have told me you should pickup the 2nd one even if you're slightly interested. Who know's, maybe it'll pull a Disgaea and end up being extremely hard to find in the next year or so. Doesn't hurt to be safe I guess?

And yeah, I'm at 40 hours and I still feel like I'm being introduced to the game, still exploring classes and whatnot. So it'll definitely keep you busy for a long time.

Do it for the Prism Rangers. Do it ... for Justice.

$33?!? Wow. So obviously there are some rare games that stores will pay top dollar for.

(Really... not many games get $30 and above I'm guessing. Does GameStop have a database that you search to see what the going price is?)

Shit, Anya, you're an evil manager at your GS.

The one I got mine from I paid 35 bucks for.

On that curve though, the story itself is fine...the extras however...

Hrm... I'm leveling equipment like a madman now, I'm not even past chapter four, it's all about the Item World for me at this point.

Anyone got any clue as to what the Residents actually do? I'm somewhat confused... I think Physicians increase your HP, and Hypnotists increase your RES, but I've got too few residents subdued to be sure of their effects just yet, and I never bothered to figure it out from the original Disgaea long enough to abuse their powers.

It's close to the original except I don't see anything that would suggest an existance of a Statistician. I think the name got changed to Tutor.

That'd boost up your XP gain like crazy. Saves trouble.

Additionally, there should be things to pass that allow for higher level enemies in the game (up to 20 times). I did that in the original Disgaea and enemies that were supposed to be level 3 were level 70.

Yeah... but I don't want to have to worry about stronger enemies just yet. I'm content with leveling the easy way: I just need to amass a gigantic collection of better gear before I start taking on the big boys. Dark Rosaries are, at my level, quite useful.

EDIT: Also, is this like in Disgaea where unique characters are overall weaker than normal ones of equivalent level...?

Yea, I got one just last night. 3 hours down with 3 chapters.

Personally, you'll like when Testaments and Arcadias come into play...if there are Arcadias. If nothing else, I'm pretty sure that a Super Robo Suit with 1000 on all stats including HP with +3 MOV is in there that's more than upgradeable to level 100...PLUS whatever else is in there that you can defeat that will boost it that much farther (pirates).

Hell, a level 3 resident item had pirates at level 24 for me. If it's about an 8x difference, that's some hard work if you don't have transmigration down. Transmigration is going to help out quite a bit...BUT you have to find a decent leveling spot.

Once you get CoT open, I have a feeling it will be that much easier. But see I dunno if you can get CoT that early in the game without some SERIOUS powerleveling.

Yes, but... Unique Characters? Adell is currently almost twice the level of my second-strongest character, and that character's still not as strong as a Prinny that's about two thirds' his.

Man, prinnies rule in this game. They level so fast!

If it's the same as before, Prinnies require .8x the XP of a normal character. The kickass classes (like Surts from before) require 1.2x.

And BASE STATS COUNT. Adell may be changed to do a lot better. Hell I had a Lililth transmigrated from a Red Mage from the first game several times over and she had 80,000 INT and 100,000 ATK at level -1- with the stuff I had on her. Imagine her at level 1000 or higher.

Like I said...base stats make everything. You want to make/transmigrate characters as Genius level, bare minimum. Obviously, you're not going to get that at the start...but...that's something you should shoot for.

What's a good level to start reincarnating then?
(assuming you've got the Mana for Genius)

I myself am just kind of blasting through the story right now. I'm at Chapter 11, pushing to 12 so I can get
Spoiler:
Flonne and Laharl

My most used characters are pushing 80, thanks to some bills and CoO1 (its fun to level from level 1, to almost 30 in one kill. Then just a few more turns to get into the 50-60's). And yeah my Adell is a powerhouse. Maybe because I've spent some time in the item world with his equipment, but with Vulcan Blaze he's amazing.

I have a 1700 something Neko, but have been pretty lazy to get one at 9,999. Also what would some of you say is the best course of action when I'm done using some of these Neko's? I reincarnated some of them into Mages and stuff.

I'd totally upgrade as soon as you get a class upgrade...

Otherwise, you're just wasting potential stats. Plus, don't higher classes learn skills faster? If that's the case, inheritance can stack alongside that and you'll get higher level skills faster.

I don't know, the guide makes it sound like you should wait to 9,999 if you want to be a real power (and they also make it sound easy to level up to that. But I'm sure that's part of the long process in getting tons of high leveled residents in Items, like they're saying having Nerds at 19988).

If it's like Disgaea, usually around level 700-1000. The cap, I think, is 85,000 levels stored.

If you can get to level 9999 easy, more power to you, but usually it's better to get to that cap and THEN level to 9999.

As for the class upgrades, I think it's -1- point extra skill XP per job tier up.

Ex:
1st - 20XP
2nd - 21XP
etc...
