[12:55] (Dr_Death16); I swear, the word drama needs to be stricken from the dictionary, for I've heard it so many times, it will permanently be imprinted on my brain

I am thus far deeply enjoying the item world. Often, I'll just pop in the game to run a few ranks through it. I've also realized that it's not necessarily your level that determines how powerful you are, but your gear. I'm a weakling thus far: My level 15 Adell, however, has over 500 hit points and qualifies for the high atk and high spd felons already, and it's only the end of Chapter 3. I can't stand using Tink, either... I've actually yet to hire anyone for my team other than a Prinny and the standard five you start with. It's far easier to raise a small team of high-powered killers than it is a group of midlevels.

Dang, more powerful than me but I'm towards the end of Chapter 4.
(my Adell is just now 14)

Guess I should check out the Item World more, it just kind of scares me at the levels I'm at.

I actually like Tink though, especially because of his move range. And yeah, it probably is easier to level a few stronger characters than a bunch. I just got a Heavy Knight, hearing that a lot of people at GameFAQ's love them ... but, his movement is so bad ... I'm already done clearing off the maps by the time I get him to where the enemies would have been. I'm enjoying Warrior though.

So yeah, I'm still very new to this game. Any tips on how to make money easily? I read something about the subpoena's but didn't really understand what people were talking about. Right now, 3,000 HL is a lot for me.

If you really bust ass in the item world, you might be able to get some of the characters early. I have a feeling a level 1000 Etna might be a bit much for some people.

Yeah, I figured you were supposed to lose that fight.

Anyways, I still haven't found out how to Steal from the shops. I tried using the items while next to the shops, but that doesn't seem to work. So, yeah?

Oh, and the Item World theme is awesome.

Does leveling get faster at some point in the game? It just seems like it'll take forever even to get to the 100's.

Item world is usually notorious for power-leveling.

However, there are certain parts of most NIS games that you can power-level on endlessly. In Disgaea, Cave of Trials 3 could easily skyrocket your guys.

If you have a way of moving stuff like Stasticians on a sword like in Disgaea, then that will give you a way to boost your levels even further. A 300 Statistician (either by find or merge) will boost your XP gain by 300% (or 4x) and I think that's the max. A Weaponsmaster at 1900 will boost your weapons XP gain 1900% (20x) and I think that's the max.

If it's like that in Disgaea 2, that's where to start. Especially pwning in the item world.

Having the first game helps sooooooo much...

Having all the other games relative to the series makes it that much sweeter.

So ...

I'm on my way to getting a level 100 Neko, then 200 ... etc.

Is it okay to abuse NIS games, or am I being a very very bad man? _¬

If it's anything like the others, it's good that you abuse it than it abuse you. Phantom Brave would be an example of this particular Hell. I'd like to know someone that killed Baal at the end of that thing. God knows the final boss in that thing was hell enough.

This is where I make a plea for people to play other non-famous games like Magical Drop III, Valis: The Fantasm Solider series (the TG-16 CD versions in particular), and Dodonpachi. There's a ton of games like this not played enough.

Doubt it. The storyline itself is standalone.

The game pickup itself isn't that hard at all...though it does have a tendency to have a bit of a learning curve if you're not careful. There's really nothing easy about the game but nothing that a boatload of leveling (into the thousands, even) can't fix.

Alright then. I've been wanting to get Disgaea, but I can never find it around here, so it's good to hear that I can (hopefully) get the second and not have too much trouble.
