Sweet. Region coding sucks.

I hope they´ll release it in europe at the same time as in the US. Weird enough, they´ll release it in US before Japan.

Aw... apparently the Opera Browser must be purchased with Wii points. Hopefully they don't make it cost 3,000 points or something absurd like that.

All this news is actually making me sort of angry. I'm disappointed with some of the things that Nintendo is saying.

For example, on the Wii version of Twilight Princess, Link is right handed. It's a good thing I'm getting the Gamecube version, what was this about giving the left-handed people a chance, too?

It'd be good to have a left handed/right handed option for most games, so players don't have to learn to be lefty/righty to play a specific game.

Let's play a fun game: it's called, "Help Wite choose what organs he will sell to afford this!"

Yeah but not a lot of people are going to complain about what hand Link's sword is in... that's being a tad too picky to be honest. :\ Visual only.

The right-handed Link was a last minute addition, all the e3 2006 videos and demos of the Wii version have Link using the bow, hookshot, and sword with the left hand. that was also before you swung the sword with the remote, so I guess that's why they changed it.

Well, none of the GCN games would fit on the flash memory.

Meh, I'm mostly planning to buy games that I don't own remakes of from the virtual consoles. Such as Starfox 64. Wonder if they add some DS connection deal later on, such as being able to download GB games and thenbeing able to play on your DS. A GB game with emulator would fit on the DS RAM. Seeing that the Wii will update on it's own with it's firmware (though to be honest I kinda prefer knowing when my stuff updates but oh well...) I can see such features getting added.

That might be the case in Japan but I can't see them not charging for the browser at launch then slapping a price tag on it...

December 8th in Europe... very good. There was a weak rumor yesterday it would be pushed back to March but I couldn't see that happening. 3+ month jump on the PS3.

Aussie release date: December 7. That takes care of all the major territories, and it's a pretty good "simultaneous launch" to be honest.

Within a month of each other is a really good simultaneous launch, and the units are supposed to be shipped quite equally, except for US, of course.

So can someone tell me quickly and briefly how the Nintendo wi-fi system does/will work? I'm not entirely clear. Will I be able to run it through an existing interweb connection using the right network doo-hickeys?

By region free do they mean also PAL/NTSC will work the same? Because otherwise, I'm pretty sure there's been region-free stuff for years... at least among the PAL countries I think there has been.

Also I'm annoyed that the price is A$400 here. I know electronics are always proportionately more expensive here, but still... seems a tad too high. Was hoping for 300 or 350.

I'm pretty sureit is only for connection using a wireless network, unless they use the USB connector that you can buy as of now, for the DS. The wi-fi connection, once you set it up, is always connected, because the Wii doesn't really have an off function, more of a sleep mode. It allows Nintendo to send updates or special features to different Wiis directly.

Yeah, that's what will happen, JAP games will work on any system, same with PAL and NTSC.

What I hate is that every controller costs $40 dollars. I never seen such an expensive controller. Guess I will have to wait to play mutliplayer with my freinds.

$40 for a controller is high but not the $20 one. But I have like 5 gamecube controllers so I don't need a classic one. I need a numchuck, but its a high price, how can you say its not high. No other controller on the market is that high, as far as I know.
