| Poeple write bad stuff like that, because they are trying to comunicate like when we are talking, that makes them type the stuff as if they were speaking, focusing in the pronunciation of what they are saying (U instead of you, R instead of are, etc.), try reading their sentences aloud, and they'll sound almost as if they're are writen correctly. (unless there's a h somewhere that severly changes pronunciation).
Those persons are called n00bs, just because they are ignorant of how words must be writen, or they don't care. Persons like me, would be regarded as Newbies, just because we try our best to type down sentences easy to understand and readable. I just find wrong people laughing at other persons like "SEE! HE CANNOT SPELL BOARD RIGHT!", and don't like it. Disliking bad communication is one thing, but making fun of other people's spelling is another very diferent one. |

| I second that Uly. Yes, some people are lazy and need to put forth more effort especially when they are trying to ask something. There are also some that are treated poorly like you are saying that shouldn't be.
At least sometimes, people shouldn't judge too quickly on someone else based on a few typos. |

| Okay, then your brains clearly work differently to mine, because "u" never, ever equals = "you" and I never ever type that way.
I am capable of typing out my words in proper English. Besides, it's not like there's a time limit on a forum -- there may be time issues related to Instant Messaging, or space issues with SMS -- but what -- what -- on a forum prevents you from typing out "YOU" in full??  No, sorry, I don't make excuses for laziness. And frankly, considering people are taught as early as primary school (or whatever you call it in your country) how to spell simple words such as "you" and "are"... honestly... I don't see how it's "phoenetic" spelling either. It's laziness.
Sorry, but I don't see why laziness is suddenly something to aspire to.
And I don't think me telling somebody that they should make an effort is treating them poorly either. If they get themselves doing the right thing as soon as possible, they are much more likely to have a positive experience than a negative one. |

I wasn't saying accept those who type u or r instead of you and are (that is if any of what you said Tarale was directed at me  ).
The some that I said that shouldn't be treated bad would be those who make maybe a few typing errors. Those who type terribly need to try to type with better grammar and take more time in their posting instead of slopping crap down and posting it. It's honestly sad when someone posts something and you can't read any word of it. |

| Yeah, I don't particularly like the usage of AOL words. I think it can be annoying when people use 'lol' at the beginning and end of each sentence, and also in place of commas.

| I'm forgiving of the occasional typo -- everyone makes them.
But the second anyone thinks that AOL / MSN / SMS shorthand is acceptable for posting on a forum because it's "phoenetically" correct.... that's where I draw a line. There's a reason it's a shorthand for other faster / limited mediums...  (edited by Tarale on 09-09-06 10:34 AM) |

Sure, you can say that idiots aren't allowed here. No problems with that, it's an admirable (though elitist) policy and it works. But you decided to hack their board, 'spy' on it, and/or cause them tons of problems just because you don't like them and you consider them stupid. If you're in this category above, you're an asshole. You're also a bully, and you're not worthy of anyone's respect. And if you never expected your actions to have any consequences, you might also be an idiot. I would say you're lowered yourself to their level, but you haven't. You've gone lower, as impossible as you might think that is. This makes me sad because I love this community and the people here and I can no longer believe that this place is a haven for nice people with more than three brain cells. But you know, I still love you guys. I don't want to leave just because some people have been revealed to be way more childish than I had inferred before. I can accept that you're an asshole.
