Okay, I've imported custom sprites into my hack and gotten the ExGFX in for them with no problems, but the palette is weird. I downloaded the tutorial for custom sprites off of SMW Central, and I've got the necessary palettes, but that's where the problem is.

For example, with the Boomerang Bro, it says I need to load two different palettes, one for the bro and one for the boomerang. I thought there was only one (custom or not) palette for the level. I'm pretty sure I don't remember anything about this from when I read the help files.

And if I do get the palettes right, is there a way to keep my level's palette from messing up? I don't see why not, since Koopas seem to have a correct palette in every level.

You dont need custom palettes for the sprites because mikeyk already recolored them to fit with the standards sprite color palette.

In case you want to know the palettes, they're from 8-F.

Oh. Well, the Classic Goomba appears black, so I was just wondering.

Well, there are a few sprites that need a custom palette, maybe 2-3 or so.

I will post the palette of the goomba and the bomb thrown by the albatoss. I don't know if there are more sprites with other palettes but I know that the electricity thingy needs to be drawn by hand or ripped somewhere else.

The colors used for the sprites are marked with a red border.
Also, the electricity thing uses the same palette and colors like the albatoss bomb. For the goomba, just use the brown colors as the green is for my piranha plant. I hope that helps.

Actually, I have one more slight problem. Part of the Goomba appears green. I've got the five colors set up like you have. Does it use any other part of the palette?

EDIT: Nevermind.

I don't know if all of you realize this, but you can easily have any custom sprite use any palette entries that you want.

To change the palette a custom sprite uses. Open up the cfg_editor and change the palette value in the sprite's cfg file. This works for nearly all of the sprites.

To change the which entries of a palette it uses. Edit the tiles in the exgfx file. For a bunch of the sprites I just copy-pasted the tiles from SMAS just so people would know which tiles to edit. They're definitely not in the best state by default
