Hah, yes, R/B/Y and even moreso G/S/C had awesome music for Game Boy games. I hated the music (and nearly everything else) in the GBA games though, and the show... AAAAH IT BURNS

Terran theme from starcraft, Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic adventure 2: Battle!, as well as shadow the hedgehog and CT are my favorites, with a coupel tracks from Perfect Dark.

BTW, Winamp + USF/SPC Plugins + self-made recordings of the Sonic themes = , because the sonic themes loop well when you do them right.

The US themes sucked. All of them. This is not up for discussion. The Japanese themes I didn't mind a few of them, but honestly, for you to defend...any anime dub theme is just sad

And yes Alastor. Square games are generaly going to have good music anyway. D;

I loved the music in the G/S/C games. Those are my favorite pokémon games, btw.

I liked the feeling of Mysteries in those games. Like when searching for Ho-oh.

How about the music from Space Invaders for Gameboy color. The main theme is awesome!

That's the case much of the time, but then there's also times where the Japanese theme is so bad there's really nothing the english theme can be BUT better (I'm looking at you, Naruto)...

I disagree. Square music is better than some... Most, even... But I don't like most of it, and Live a Live's soundtrack was particularly feh.

One of my favorite song moments in a game is when I played as Laguna for the first time.(FF8)

The battle theme is awesome! I think I leveled up just so I could listen to it...

In addition to my previous posts, I also enjoy a bunch of Mario Party songs, mostly all of the songs in Yoshi Touch & Go, the Pokemon (GBP/GBC) soundtracks, the Banjo-Kazooie soundtrack..... There's just too many to count, to be honest.

Game soundtracks I can't stand, though, are the Super NES Final Fantasy soundtracks, and Ridge Racer for the PSP. They're explosions in my ear, ie. very annoying.

Videogame soundtracks in my eyes basically fall into one of two categories:

1. Ys Book I & II on the Turbo Grafx CD
2. Everything else.

Yeah, there are other great soundtracks, a lot of which have been mentioned in the topic already, but Ys I & II tops them all.

Oh well. To each their own then. As for your comment on Naruto, I personaly don't have a problem with the opening (depending on whcih you refer to, if its the one by AKFG then yeah), the rest of that artist's music however...blah, the singer really annoys me sometimes. But I digress =P this is about videogames, so back on topic.

Eh, I found it annoying and very repetitive. Only game I ever played with sound off the entire time, at least after the first few hours. That DFASFAFSAD siren Nintendo insists on putting in every game when you get low on health doesn't help either.

Yeah. "Megalomania", "Fish swimming in the water, Birds flying in the air", and the final battle all were pretty great. Not to mention the near future chapter's main music, which is so funky it just demands a listen.

Amen. Let's not forget MM3's beginning and ending music, now... those truly kick ass.

Chrono Cross goddammit. In close second places ties are Xenogears, FFT, and Gitaroo Man.

Anyone that has played Gitaroo Man and didn't like it DOESN'T HAVE A SOUL.
