In my dads computer, there is one 64MB stick of ram and one 256MB stick of ram. When you check the ram in system properties, it says there 112MB of ram. Anyone know what could be going on here?

There are many reasons for this:

- A video card that takes its memory from system RAM is installed (highly unlikely)
- You have RAM from two different manufacturers/standards installed.
- Your RAM is faulty.
- A system option restricts the RAM (again unlikely)

Try running memtest86 on the affected computer to check if the RAM is faulty or otherwise corrupted.
