The GBA remakes aren't as good as the original versions. Too easy that's why. Maybe if they didn't save the number of lives that you had when you turn off the game, it would probably be more challenging.

I've already had the GBA version for more than 2 years and it only took me a day to beat it. I still haven't bothered getting perfect scores though.

Yoshi's Island was pretty fun. The one thing I could never do in it is do the early Naval Piranha kill... which is kind of meh anyway.

It took me 15 minutes to beat the Naval Plant when I first played YI because I wasn't aiming at the walls for some reason. As of today, he is a piece of cake.

I just got YI for GBA recently (to play on my DS) and I'm loving it too. I've only heard good things about it from people here, and it was really cheap, so...

I haven't played it for a few weeks though... I should get back to it.

Naval Piranha may be easy, but Marching Milde is even easier

Wrong early kill. He's talking about killing the (still-small) pirhana plant, leading to Kamek's speech of "OH MY!!!!" and the next level.

It's a good game... I remember back near when it came out. Fun times. And yes, Marching Milde is insanely easy.

Oh

And even though Milde a cinch, I still think the fort is a pain in the ass.

The level that gave me the most trouble was probably 5-Extra: Kamek's Revenge. The skiing part was pure hell at first (but I was going for a perfect score) Plus, if you didn't make it in time with the helicopter, well...dead.

The hardest level on the GBA version, and still the hardest of all in my opinion, is 3-Secret: Go Go Morphing! I wasted at least 30 lives trying to get 100 points on that level for some reason

But meh. No levels compare to the greatness of the ones in my hack As for the early kill, take it slow, and just jump on the first circle part of the bridge. Should work.

I was quite young when it came out for the first time, but I still knew what it was, nonetheless. Good times. *Just realizes you used an almost similar "times" phrase* Marching Milde... *Goes on Google* OH! That was the only boss I could easily pull off when the game came out... I remember how frustrating it was, though. Since it's easy to beat, but hard to not get hit. ... Maybe it's because of my recklessness or my over-confidence. (Such as playing SMB. I try insane, leaps of faith. Most of the time... *Fail*) I think Milde was like a break of some sort; for the hard fortress.

I still remember those fond times... *30 stars. About to finish level* *HIT* "WAH! WAH! WAH!" Man. I wanted to kill Baby Mario so much.

Isn't Yoshi's Island the second Mario game to reward you for a 100% completion? (Well, not ALL of the game, but you know what I mean...) I know SMW was the first one...

Yoshi's Island was awesome, but the sound was pure torture. Such great music only to be interrupted by WAAAH WAAAH WAAAH every now and then.

SMA3 was a good remake (SM64DS tops it, though ). I enjoyed it. The added Yoshi's Story voices were somewhat annoying, but still not nearly as annoying as the voices in SMA1/2/4.

Yoshi's Island 2 looks way too gimmicky for my tastes (and I won't even start on the continuity issues it brings up..) Yoshi's Island itself, however, is one of my favorite games of all time. I never got 100% on every level, but I'm still working on it when I'm bored

True timeline is always thrown out the window when a gimmicky sequal comes up. They don't care how it works, just as long as people will buy it.

As far as I'm concerned, fun is far more important than storyline. They could make a game where it turns out that Mario is a midget squirrel on an acid trip, and as long as it's fun, I'd play it. Of course, it'd screw the storyline up as far as it could go, but... Yeah.

As long as YI2 is more amusing than Yoshi's Story, it should be good. YS was largely hampered (in my eyes) by the requirement of playing 4 levels per playthrough...

I'm aware timeline isn't what makes a game however...its the gimmicky, time-line killing junk like this that makes the game less enjoyable. I mean...baby DK and baby Peach? Maybe its fun but that makes absolutly no sense, and to me it appears like they did it just because they wanted to sell copies by making that sort of a gimmick. I guess I'm always going to be one of those people you'll hear complaining that they don't make 'em like they used to I'll more than likely pick the game up, regardless..

I remember playing that game, bought for the SNES console, and playing it for two weeks straight to hit 100% in everything. I think the level I had the biggest trouble with was the Special level for World 5. I think I literally went insane that summer over trying to beat that 100% (so much so that I put KI down for weeks which, at the time, was unheard of).

So yea. Definitely a good game.
