Yeah. it's scanning the hard drive that COTMK 1 was on Although I still won't be able to recover the file (yet - the demo only allow restoration of 64KB files), I'll know for sure whether COTMK 1 is there or not. So, if it is, then for sure it'll be un-iced and finished.

Just thought I'd share that little tidbit.

EDIT: I'm crying now - I found the file. Fully intact.

FUCK YEAH - COTMK 1 HAS BEEN SLATED FOR DE-ICING!

COTMK was my first hack (I ignored the common law), and was almost done when a computer repair shop reformatted one of my HDD's (I have two, and wasn't using the one that held COTMK 1 also, I found COTMK 2 as well )

Anyways, I'm happy. And... do a search ondatacrystal.org, there's a few screenies there, and I'll pu ttogether a link to my collection of COTMK 1 pictures.

EDIT: Try this URL. If it doesn't work, let me know right away, but id did work for me after I logged out, so it should work for you too.

Woah. If I recall I beta tested this hack and it was pretty sweet.

Glad to see it's un-iced. I wonder if that program can help locate OTHER missing files

Didn't DD say that he tried as much as he can and couldn't find it? I doubt this will help him.

It won't work with files that have been overwritten though... so I don't think it'll work for DD because his SMB3 ROM was at the beginning of his HDD (which was overwritten by WinXP)

Some things in DDs story don't add up. MA2 was on the beginning of one hard drive, where windows was on the other hard drive. Why would both hard drives be wiped out? His brother formatted and reinstalled winxp, but only to get past the password. That means he would have wiped the one with xp on it.

Huh, I dunno about that... I'd have to re-read DD's story.

Anyways, I got the quote for the full version too - $45 Cdn, and I've spoken to my parents - they're seeing about ordering it tonight and having me pay them back for it. Which is nice; I'm profitting from this in two ways: one, I get COTMK 1 back, and two, I also can use that drive without rtiskign the safety of COTMK 1.

Oops, my bad.

And yeah, it's by bitmart. $31.70 USD for the final purchase or Restorer2000 3.0.

You paid money for a file recovery program? LOLOLOL. There are good, free ones out there that work just as well, such as TestDisk. It's a little late for you, but if anyone else out there is looking for one...don't waste your money (or your computer's health searching for a crack).
