The hack looks very promising along with the new drivers - I want to see them in all frames when they rotate too, since they already look very nice in these screenshots here. It is impossible to say something about unlaid eggs (as it comes to track design), but from these few shots it seems pretty neat; I like the FuSoYa or whatever sprite on this moon, too. Good work OK Impala! and all other people involved in your game - hope it will fulfill what it seems to be promising now. |

| Little history lesson: the first big thing Don Miguel is known for is the completion of the English translation of RPG Maker 95, started by KanjiHack.
Being a good pal of Don and all, I'm actually the one who suggested his inclusion. Both Impala and myself have an RPG Maker 95 game in the works (put on hold because of Epic Racers, obviously), which further justifies this decision to add Don in the game... as the original inspiration for the Epic Racers theme is an RPG-like universe, deeply related with the program that started it all: RPG Maker 95. The Stifu character (with his armor and high tech stuff) actually comes from my RM95 game, SSF. The same goes for Impala, who is an animal living in a secret forest in Ancient Tales, Ok Impala!'s RPG. For the record, Sasori is a very good friend of us who was also working on an RM95 game, but we don't have any news from him since last year. Some of you may remember he used to be in the Epic Racers team (which explains the fact he's on the title artwork)... Impala was supposed to take care of hacking the game and making new tracks, while Sasori and myself were supposed to take care of the graphics. But Sasori disappeared, so 100% of the graphics are my work now... Not to mention I also ended up helping Impala with hacking the ROM... |

And the graphics look very detailed, even more than the original characters. And if there would come big Probs with Jesus in a racing game, just rename him Juck Noris or something. |

Some of you guys have also probably noticed how, during races, some drivers grossly get bigger or smaller as you race behind them... That's because Nintendo didn't resize the driver sprites at the proper size for all of their smaller sizes, if you know what I mean. I am of course implying that the Epic Racers drivers don't have any of those flaws.

| Very nice looking hack, guys. I like the way Jesus is there... but I hope that he never just calls lightning down on everyone else just to get ahead... Hey, there's an idea for a possible hard version power - lightning attack on you or somethign, a bit like the attacks the other CPU racers use in GP mode. And yeah, that Rainbow-road themed one is fugly to the extreme. The other tracks are FTW though. | |||

Epic Racer's number one fan here.
I've been lucky enough to see the rotation of some characters. Let me tell you... It's flawless! Stifu's spent countless hours on designing these characters -- this hack's been in the works for years now -- and he strides on perfection! Surlent: Stifu's Board is based on all RPG Makers, where-as this one is general ROM hacking. I found that place by Googling RPG Maker when I had the sudden crave for it, before I even knew such a thing existed! Since then, I've lost all inspiration, but I enjoy the community. Impy, Stiff, Don...they're all there.
[/end advertisment] It's really a shame that most of Impy's hard-earned course designing skills will be lost due to improvements with the upcoming course editor. It would've taken alot of work to create something new based with such restrictions. Only when you REALLY study the course is when you can see what tracks they were based off of, with the exclusion of Rainbow Road, ocrouse.  |
