I'm having some problems using palette 2 and 3 on the overworld. It seems like the objects using these palettes loads some palette from the previous finished level.*
*Smallhacker told me This is how it looks like: And this is how it SHOULD look like: NOTE: OW isnt finished yet, so dont say it sucks or whatever. I hope someone can help me with that. Thanks in advance. (edited by Ice Man on 08-05-06 10:11 PM) |

Simply put, you just can't use those palettes on the overworld. It shouldn't be too difficult to work around if you put your mind to it, though. For one, there's the option of putting the offending objects on Layer 1 and doing a little palette work (use the higher numbered palettes). Another possibility is to work the palettes for the objects into the overworld palettes, which may work for the pyramids. (edited by asdf on 08-05-06 10:20 PM) |

The problem is, I already used 4-7 for my entire OW (layer 1 and 2) or else I wouldn't use palette 2 and 3.

Originally posted by Ice Man But in places like the desert, you wouldn't be using colors like the water colors, so you can be free to use those colors for anything else. Basically, you're not using the same palette format in every submap. See what I mean? |

Depends on what you understand under "water colors". I can't use any other palettes anymore because:
- I don't even have space for layer 2 objects anymore (in the GFX files) - If I COULD use it, we just pretend I could, it would overwrite other palettes Here's a screenshots. I just want to use those palettes without changing their colors after finishing a level. |

You can use colours 28-2F and 38-3F and they'll work fine. Just not 0-7 on either; those are the colours loaded from the level.

I'm already using 29-2F and 39-3F as you can see, and it doesn't work fine.
Edit: I forgot you can use ExGFX on the OW, too. I'm currently fixing the problem. Thread can be closed. (edited by Ice Man on 08-06-06 11:20 AM) |
