http://hrp.planetduke.gamespy.com/

this baby high rezes the textures and even adds 3d models for 80% everything is in 3d. Unfortionatly the BattleLord, Overlord, and Cycloptic Comander are 2d still and only 2 babes are 3d, the woman in a blue shirt tapping her foot, and the stripper who takes her top off, also only pole the one woman is strapped to is 3d but only when she's killed.

If you wanna download it please DLD the combined pain skin and new effects and HRP together in 1 zip(should be near the top at the news section about this), this ver has upgrades over the older HRP. Like more is in 3d, pipes, dukes foot, the body parts on the plates, weapon positioning in the fps view made to where you can see dukes hand as well, and more textures in high res has been added. Also the new smoke and gore look better. Screens are on the link.

And graphically it kicks Duke Forever's butt alittle(well the old and only trailer at least, compare the octa brain and how blocky it is on DNF, then look at the octabrain on HRP, looks more like the pre-rendered CG sprites of the old then forever to me).

See also the RPG looks more detailed then in Forever

PS: this is also designed to work with atomic, there is also the pig tanks that are in 3d. Also you NEED the actual pc game of Duke Nukem 3D and or atomic. Also even if the episode select shows "The Birth" you cant play them unless you have atomic or the platonuim pak(wich is DN3d and atomic in one pac, as atomic was sold as an add on like the sims, were you have to buy the actual game too)

Well.. that's cool. Since D3D is cool. I wonder if I can get myself to actually beat that game with that pack (it'll help anyway xP).

I'll move this to Gaming.

Anyways, this thread has inspired me to order a copy of Duke Nukem 3D. Its been too long since I've played it, and I've only played the PSX version (I've heard its not as great as the PC counterpart).

It was just awesome. Come get some.

Too bad the future Duke Nukem's were 3rd person, I just didn't like them nearly as much as 3D.

Thank you Racer.

I beet this game alot, I wish they rerelesed this on ps2 and other, to give us something on the consoles before forever.

BTW if any of you want Duke 3d for free, get a shared copy from the Shareaza program, best one that works is Duke Nukem self extracting zip, it's an exe file. the rest will just be some dumb install ad software crap mostly.

Looks nice, but only the second picture works. FYI, saying "Warning: big pics" in the thread itself doesn't help much.

That's because they're on your computer. If you want other people to be able to see them, you can use a site like ImageShack to upload them for free.

Maybe you can see em now, might be cuz my DSL you ment. BTW that april fools joke to me was harsh, as he put an actual forum up, heehee and also inreality it's posible though, if he ever ported it all to win and directX9 and stuff, we could play that awsome mess. What he could do it make like he did the enemies, remake the maps, to suport at least smooth guruad(spelling please) shading, so we'd have nice smooth shadows and directional lighting.

Then again this is fine(and actualy the fake hard edge shadows are great as we gots em), and realy he needs to focus on modeling the (slobers) 3 bosses and the rest o the ladies....thats all he has left to do too. Well see a new upgrade yet.

After that he could do the hole thing of the smooth lighting and normal maps later.

BTW racer, the ps1 ver looks the same but the slowdown was unexusible, remember how fast and clean doom was on ps1? Duke on ps1 though had something the rest didn't, wich was better versions of the music, and the ps1 ONLY, AWSOME exlusive episode, with new enemies(like the bot pig, and the maid pig) and a new boss that looks similar to proton from the 2d dukes, my brother says he saw a pick of proton and he said it looked like proton a little, nice. Also that added alink to the older ones(if thats supposed to be him). Also Duke 3d was the many of few ps1 games like doom with perspective texturing, were the textures were natural and didn't swerv, that was a plus in the porting.

I loved the levels on the new episode, especiualy the shinning one mixed with bates hotel. It had the maze, the REDRUM, and else. Also I loved the rest on that episode. You should also get a playstation emu, and get the ps1 duke also.

One more thing, there are lots other mods and custom maps within one of those links, though they onnly work with 2d sprites duke3d, they are realy good.

And thankfully my shareaza file came with the build editor, now I can make those maps I made awile ago on grid paper when I went insane of wanting to make my own levels.

Try to download the ROCH map pack, they are very impressive and built from the editor. Also try some duke 3d tools in with you change sprites and stats.

There is a lame duke mod, a mod with takes duke back to the duke 2d days, looks spectacular, making the old 2d old duke and enemies be enhanced in pixels onto the 3d envirnment.

The best mod EVER yet is Starship Troopers, it plays real good and is based on the events of the movie alot. You even go to the attacked base were the blue bug comes out. New weapons, nicely sprites modeled from 100% acurate 3d models, new gameplay things here and there. Try to find it on one of those sites(think it's edge file).
