Actually, now that I think about it, a Mouser sprite would be cool. Also, I remember someone making, but I dunno if it was open source or not... lightning-throwing Lakitu?

Actually a program created by, I believe, Smallhacker, can easily change what sprite Lakitu throws. Can't remember which one it is though...

Yes smallhacker released a program named "lemetaal" or something like that and it can be found in smwcentral.net

You could use a hex editor to change the byte at xEC32 to the sprite number you want. At xEC36 you can change what Lakitu throws when a silver p-switch is active.

The graphics space for the hammer bro disagrees with yoshi's tounge space. In other more specific words, the hammer bro's GFX take over yoshi's tounge GFX making things look bad. Is there anywhere else you could put them? It would be appreciated.

yoshi master: hammer bros have been fixed to avoid yoshi's tongue, and will be in the next release

You want sprite ideas hm?
-Wind could be made by generating a moving sprite that pushes Mario back like the movement blocks in Blocktool. -A Goomba on a pogo stick. -A real Shell Brother. Originally posted by Bloyburt Spawning real shells would be cool. -A 1up that runs from you ala Mario 64. -A dog that lays explosive turds. -A zombie. -A door that periodically gets up and wanders around. It could wander to other screens, changing where it'd lead. (Did I mention this already? ) |

A fake mario that mimics Mario moves would be cool.
Maybe A Bowser that acts like SMB3 Bowser, that would work to make an alternate ending. |

If you replaced the Hopping flame and its trail with a dog and turds, it'd be somewhat like your idea. It wouldn't be as good, but would be a lot easier, nonetheless.
No explosions. Whatever. It's like poison crap or something. (edited by Doritokiller on 07-31-06 06:24 PM) |

I like some of the ideas that have been talked about so far. We'll see what I can do.
I've also uploaded Sprite Tool v1.21 to fix a couple graphics problems: + I changed a tile of the hammer/boomerang bro tilemap to avoid overwriting the yoshi's tongue graphics. + The tilemap for ball n chains will also no longer be overwritten. You'll still need to set ROM 0x15A00 to 0x15A04 back to EA to fix damage that has already been done. |

Very nice work, though I have 2 nice ideas for sprites.
The chain chomp and the pirahna that jumps when Mario jumps over it. Both are from SMB3. |

What I'd like to see is:
1. A SMB1 pirhana plant. It's 8 pixels lower, and moves a lot more slowly. 2. A SMB1 Blooper 3. A classic firebar. 4. A Koopa Troopa that temporarily stays in its shell, and can use a different upper 16x16 tile for each frame. 5. A classic Lakitu, that doesn't move vertically. 6. Fire Brother 7. Boom-Boom 8. Chain Chomp 9. A dry bones with a non-horizontally-displaced seperate modifiable tilemap. 10. SMB1 Bowser Some are probably pointless though. I'd like to see some of the requests that have already been made, too, like SMB2J wind. |

I've got a great one. I remember playing SMB2J, and jumping onto a green trampoline. Went soaring for a long time, and finally shot down as fast as you fall in Megaman 1. (God, I hated how the falling physics works in that game) That'd be a nice one to use in conjunction with the wind.
Lishy: Type in sprites.txt. When it asks for a list. Learn to read a README. That's why it's called a README. And if you can't understand that easy to understand README, you fail. Everywhere. (edited by Doritokiller on 07-31-06 08:26 PM) (edited by Doritokiller on 07-31-06 08:27 PM) |

... That's weird... Is the ROM in the same directory as Sprite Tool? Have you opened the ROM in Lunar Magic and saved a level?

A directory is the place where a file is. So are they in the same folder? Did you type in the full rom's name PLUS the extension? (it's .smc) (edited by Doritokiller on 07-31-06 09:46 PM) |
