I can think of 3 at the moment... but I think there would be a lot more going on if we had a forum for it... it would lead to more ideas and more activity in there.

It would probably work a lot better for two reasons:

1) You don't have stickied tournament threads cluttering up several forums when it could just be in one.

2) More interest - it'll allow people to make more suggestions for tournaments and ideas and would allow people that aren't staff to carry out their own tournament ideas through this medium. I have a feeling that could be a reason why tournies around here are sparse at best alongside the fact that half the time, people don't show for theirs when it IS announced.

You'd be amazed how much I'd like my own Internet connection but I don't see that happening for at least another two months.

Sides, my foot up your ass is motivation enough.

Ah, but I have more in my arsenal after five months of nonexistence.

You'd be surprised what I now know. Muhah.

Anyways, there's not much of a use for me until -I- personally get Internet, but I would think it'd help others, especially during the summer.

I think you've lost it.

No. Seriously this time. You're going through a trend I wasn't a part of. That's a no-no.

Add toast and I'll be happy.

Hmm... well, I'll try to IM Xk about making a tournament forum once a day or two. It'll keep reminding him without totally pissing him off.

Besides, if we had about 2 or 3 tourneys going at one time be it game tourneys or art contests (eh, that could go in Modern Art, but there are forum announcements to redirect them to the new forum) it would be nice. Just that any tourney that wants to be done has to be backed up with support.

Only thing is that the moderators (if any) would have to be there to maintain order to know when to close threads when a tourney is over and sticky them for when they are in progress.

Sure, having many contests could be chaotic, but we have two completely different tournaments going on right now anyway and they are running fine as far as I know. Just put them in one forum so that all tournaments and contests are easily in view. Mario Kart DS, Literai, and Avatar Contest at once wouldn't confuse people at all since they are totally different tourneys and contests. Hell, put in Bomberman in there as well! If we have someone organizing it and is doing a good job, multiple tournaments wouldn't be that bad.

Yes, I'm in support of the forum.
