And lol isn't annoying and pointless to begin with? I mean.. No one cares if you're laughing out loud.. And it is sorely abused anyway, as people start using it as a filler between their lame jokes and comments - hence they aren't actually laughing at all, just mildly amused at themselves.

So yea, it is pointless in and of itself. If you really absolutely need to get your joke across somehow (to inform people you aren't serious) then use smilies. Not that I really like those too much either, but they at least serve a purpose in translating the tone of a user..

Umm...the post Cara Zeltina made didn't relate to the point at all. I was talking about words that have lol inside them, she went off on a rant about how using lol is pointless and that you should use smilies instead.

Think of it this way. The word cum is filtered to manjuice. Now, that's going to cause collateral damage, as words like cumulus, cucumber, circumstances and cumbersome are going to get messed up. Of course, that's just an example and would never actually happen, but the point remains. Filtering words that can show up in other words is going to cause problems.

Also, anyone can see that 24h time is more logical, more handy, and has 13:37 (which makes it better). The thing that really takes the cake with am/pm is that 12am is followed by 1am. Since 12 is bigger one would like it to come later, like after 11am.
