It could be interesting to remove the killing thing in the hole where the rocks go, making a new passage to the underground lake.

Hello everyone! I am not new to hacking, but I decided to join this board because I will probably have some questions after the arrival of Toad's Tool. I already have the rom and emulator (and the cartridge, just for legal purposes). I hack SNes games, GBA games, and NDS games. Now I want to try n64. I am a friend of ajstal8. One question; do I need to run lunar expand on my rom? (I have .v64, not .z64 just to let you know).

The hacking document is found in VL-tones signature. And about that SM64 rom extender, you might want to know exactly what it does? It decompress the MIO0 files which all levels in SM64 are stored in.

I went to test the theory about the object of death in the pit and the ability to fall into the pond. I used the levitation GS code and I got on the island in the center of the lake. I floated up and died the same way you die in the pit. so it is possible to fall through to the pond but you will die because you suffer fall damage when you land on the island. Hopefully a later release of TT64 will let us move the island.

I did something similar, but I leviated up at a place slightly away from the island into a light-hole, and I died. In the source code of the game they probably had an object called "death pit" or something, and when the player hits this object he dies. I'll see if there are any death-pit objects once the editor comes out. If not, then my best bet is -
If mario.z>whatever and mario.z Die() //mwa ha ha! } edit- why is it skewing my codes? "and mario.z" is supposed to be - "and mario.z (edited by proffessor_gad on 07-13-06 05:51 PM) (edited by proffessor_gad on 07-13-06 05:59 PM) |

Yeah, they could have just changed the "death height" when you enter the elevator room. (BTW, up/down is Y, not Z.)
Hm, so what special parameter makes it not trigger the death sequence when you fall out of the Princess's slide? Did they just stick a massive warp there? |

Well whenever I think of 2d games, y for me is up and down. But once you enter the 3d world, z is the depth and/or height of everything. It doesn't really matter what you call the height variable. I just find it more understandable using the var z. Most physics and triginometry books use z to, so it's just a matter of what you find more convenient.
Edit- They also could have not executed the "is he in the death range?" commands while mario is standing on, or near the elevator. (edited by proffessor_gad on 07-13-06 05:56 PM) |

Hm, that's true. The "death height" could in fact be a "death area", like a big blob of death , and the elevator room is outside of it.

But is this blob of death a circle.... or a square... Gah! It doesn't matter. Just as long as mario dies properly.

I think is an object that whem mario touches it dies. It would be the simpliest thing.
I tried to go up from the lake, but not from the center and I ended up in the botomless pit zone, but not in the hole, in a side of the room. So Mario doesn't die becouse of his height. |

moving the triangles is editing the poligons (triangles are poligons XD), this won't be until 2.0. (edited by Shiryu on 07-13-06 06:53 PM) |

Will we be able to use this editor to change polygon colors for objects that have flat-shaded polygons on them?
