I got up to the part where you find Frog in his house and he is blocking a chest. I checked a guide and it said that I need to get to the chest to get the other part of the masamune. How do I get to the chest?

Have you checked for a sparkling spot in the house? There should be one to the left to the table, if I'm correct.

I'm not sure if there is a sparkle spot, or at least I can't find it. Still, I need a way to move Frog.

Have you tried talking to him to show the hilt piece you have?

When I talk to him, all he says is "The Hero, I am not. I can do naught." I tried to get to the side of the chest but there is a dresser in the way.

Well, you can read a whole walkthrough section of "The Masamune!" if you're desperate, or you can do one of the following:

1. Talk to Melchoir

2. Talk to Tata

Or

2. Run around Frog's house while hitting A like hell

Since we're on the topic of CT. Why is does Chrono Trigger rock so hard? and why aren't lots of generic RPG's stealing great elements form CT instead of all the cliche DQ and Xenogears style stories that we've all seen in RPG's so much?

Is their no justice!

Thank you! You took the words rright out of my mouth, er, post. We all know that the world needs another Chrono Trigger style game, but people keep overlooking the game and going with crappy crappier themes and battle systems. If Final fantasy had done a game with the Chrono Trigger battle style, I would buy it i a heart beat.

By battle style, are you referring to the lack of a "Battle screen" whereas instead you see all of the enemies you encounter and fight them right there?

Square Enix hasn't really shown much from a motivational standpoint that would indicate they are thinking of creating a new Chrono Trigger style game. A 3D remake for PS2 would be really, really nice though. And don't tell me about those fan-based resurrections, I already know about them.

I'd rather see a port of Chrono Trigger to the DS or GBA.

I'd rather see a third Chrono game. I do think they shouild port CT to DS because it wouldn't be that difficult and it would be a great thing to give to newer gamers, but there's a good chance it won't happen because it could be on the Wii as a download (I haven't looked up what games/producers are going to be available for download).
And on a more personal note, Xenogears had a much better story than Final Fantasy games of the time. I felt the characters (well, aside from Rico and Billy) were developed a lot more than any FF character and I enjoyed the battle system, a nice change from all the other RPGs I had been playing.

Does "Mindless Psuedo-Symbolic Babble" count as a story?

Sorry, but it makes no sense to me.

EDIT: I don't think we'll see a CT GBA or DS port. It's too much of a sit-down kind of game, expecting you to put in, say, 45 minutes at a time. GBA/DS seems to be more suited for 30-minute or shorter play sessions.

We'll see if they can piece together a respectable plot for a 3rd Chrono game... But my instincts say "No." I am amazed Cross turned out as well as it did, honestly.

EDIT2: And who the hell plays RPGs for the battle system? Honestly, my biggest complaint with Chrono Trigger is that it was easy as all hell and required no strategy other than attack-attack-heal.

I agree with this mostly. The plot is very involved with what the game is all about, and its difficult for someone like me, who really loves this game, to put it down after a half hour of gameplay just because the story keeps you going. Second, I also think that it is unlikely that a third "chrono" based game, even if created, would be even close to as good as the original or even Chrono Cross. It would have to be unrelated, since Lavos/Time Devourer is now gone, and the world is back at peace. The time-traveling elements of the original are still pretty genius to this day and are mostly unreplicated.

Third, while the battle system of CT was great, you're right, it wasn't even close to the best part of the game, and the difficulty was questionable at times if you fought all of the enemies along the way. The plot and characters definitely overshadowed any battle system, and that's the way it should be in RPGs.

Well, sort of.

For SNES RPGs, I completely agree.

Still, the standard RPG battle system is becoming outdated now because of games that both tell good stories and have interesting play mechanics.
