I didn't elaborate because I wanted to be as brief and disrespectful to Kyouji as possible.

What happens is if you place a side exit sprite in the first Big Boo room, Big Boo warps you when you hit him once. When you hit him in the next room, he warps again. In the third room, he dies after one more hit--not 3.

Also, if you put an additional side exit in the second Big Boo room along with the first, the battle will extend to 4 rooms. The battle can chain indefinitely in theory-- just keep putting side exits in the Big Boo boss battle rooms and the battle will extend by 2 more rooms.

So.

These were done awhile ago, I just forgot to post them. All I have to do now are bonus levels.

Lets see...

1. Ectopolis frickin wins.
2. I like the tileset here. I also like how you put in a ghost shy guy.
3. Whats with the parasol on the right side of the screen?
4. The tileset is actually supposed to be a background item from YI...why did you turn it into foreground? Looks nice though
5. Nice, but are those straight things with 2 tiles supposed to be small platform things?
6. See above.

Overall, I think it looks great. I especially like the new Big Boo too, so nice job.

It's kind-of hard to see it since it's obscured by the black background and the booguy (which is my own name for that sprite I used since it's six characters and thus nicely replaces "eeries" in the end credits), but that's a parachuting bob-omb.

It's based on that, but it's not the same. It used to be a graphical rip of reduced quality to avoid fade-out problems by giving it eight colors, but I have modified it to fit a more Super Mario World-ish theme. Compare.

I think it looks much, much better now. And to not dodge the question, I did it because I thought it looked like it'd make a good foreground if I just messed with it a bit.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

It's not supposed to be big boo. That's supposed to be king boo, and is modeled after the luigi's mansion version. I would've put in the ruby-crown... I mean, I drew it up and everything... But it flips all over the place in turning around (which is why the face and mouth are in a different area and are pasted on) so it looks really bad. I explained away the lack of regal accessories in the plot, though. Big Boo's graphics have not been changed.

But that's not screenshot five...

The game will have all its levels complete by the end of the month, and then I'll release it to my beta testers. The finished game is probably going to be out in early August.

He is talking about the lights in the BG. They seem to share the same palette with the foreground, which makes them look less like lights, and more like narrow platforms.

No, thats not what I meant. I meant these:

I couldn't really find a way to describe them is all but yeah, I think they're platforms, just want to check and see if I'm right.

Those are what Kario means, though. And they're lights. They're in the background. The tombstones are not in the background, and serve as platforms. Here's something else without raisin.

Completely pointless question: Where did the moon go? Did you just not like it, or did you need that room for other graphics?

Well, that's been out of the graphics file for years, but I'm pretty sure that's why.

Also, Star World doesn't look quite like that anymore. I had to slightly rearrange it. I'd show you the difference, but now Star World Castle has been beaten, and for some reason I don't want to spoil how it'll look afterward.

Also, for no raisin,

I can't for the life of me figure out how to finish Star World 1. The pipe at the end just brings me back to the beginning, and scouting around the level I can't find anything that would bring me to the exit. What exactly am I missing here?

Ah, playing the demo from months ago, eh? Well, the thing about all the Star World levels (Except Star World Castle) is that the exits are hidden from view, and you have to pay attention to find it.
Spoiler:
In this case, there's a Yoshi in that level, as you almost certainly know. With that yoshi, you need to go back to the start of the level through the pipe. If you pay attention, you'll notice a koopa kicking a blue shell at the start. With your Yoshi flying, you just need to go up.

To be honest, I don't care too very much for your overworld graphics.. The design of the overworld seems pretty solid, but the graphics don't entirely feel at home with the original. (Or if you were trying to go with a new look entirely, I'd suggest phasing out the original overworld tiles entirely at some point before release, using your own custom tiles in their place so it all better melds together..)

The level designs look pretty nice though, and I love some of your concepts here.. The King Boo sprite looks awesome, and I can see that would be a fun level (levels?) right there. Overall, I'd say you've done a good job.. My initial reaction was not quite as positive though, (From the old screenshots) I must admit, since I think my standards were raised pretty high by your prior (harsh, but true) criticism of past hacks.. However, aside from my distaste for the (semi) clashing overworld, I can't honestly deny that you've got a decent hack in the works here.

What? It... What? Only the tombstone graphics are completely original... Other than that, the overworld tiles are pretty much just the same as they've always been...

Secret 7 is *finally* done. It's a fun little level with a lot of lava, and a lot of "cool" lava. (Cool lava has a slightly different pallete, and it won't kill you if you're invincible, instead allowing you to swim through it. I used it in world 4's castle.)

Five levels left. Completion rate - 94%.

Speaking of secret levels, is there any point to completing them besides 100% completion? Or do they open paths somewhere else late in the game?

In the end, they have no effect on the game whatsoever. They're just extra levels to reward players who look around for secrets.

The big boo looks like he had a slushie and was satisfied after drinking it. Yeah, I really like that big boo graphic alteration!
