They're layouts, you need to know basic HTML and/or CSS. If you do know them, then just view source to get a good idea of how it works. If you don't, I suggest finding some tutorials online where you can learn.

Weasel is an older member that went away for two years, and supposedly should be back any day now.

Are you talking about the colorful text and such? The info about it is in the link I gave you. Its called a "layout."

Weasel is an amazing Rom Hacker that left on missionary work for 2 years. Now that I think about it he should be coming back soon. Right?

Edit: He also was a full moderator here (staff).

Well uh, you can always steal layouts if you know where to find them in the Source.

EDIT: Welcome.

...Plenty of HTML/CSS tutorials online, just google it. Once you have the hang of it, you can look at Peardian's code and get a general idea of how he got it looking like that. But if you use his code and only change the images, make sure you ask him first. That's the polite way to do it.

And... yeah, stop making such short, pointless posts. Especially in this thread. If you have further questions, you can PM a staffer about it. Let's not be spammy.

Edit: Ok @ What you just said about that pms..
Anyways, If you got a easy-to-understand guide, PM.

It took me a while to do this, and this is only half of what I really wanted to do.

You seem like someone who might want to learn, so for that I welcome you.

Hey, I'm Syn and I like stuff. I don't really have much to say about myself. I guess saying that I'm an all around guy is what would describe me best. Anyways, I like the way this board is setup and I've seen a lot of interesting discussions around here so expect to see me often.

Oh snap. I'm back. The few who remember me, what's up? (I see Zem got himself banned again, goddammit.) Looks like most of the oldbies I remember are now MIA, tis a shame. (Weasel, Bouche, Jesper, etc)

Hello. It's been a long while since I've posted here, as I normally just read. I had to remake my account. I think the forum restarted a while back? Or perhaps my username turned into a number? It doesn't matter, really.

Here's my effort to become a tad bit active: me making a style for my posts so that I'm forced to post or otherwise suffer from the fact that I had wasted effort. I spent my time, thinking I had perfect code, but it looked all wrong in the preview. Took me a moment to realize that the board didn't like my tabbed lines of code. I remembered someone complaining about my waste-of-space code years back - I guess ACMLM came up with a way to thwart my perfectionism.

It's funny how introductions on this forum tend to end up with the new users discussing custom layouts.

Edit: Smiley conflicts with my mailto: link. Oh, goody! Mailto: works with a space. ^.~
Edit2: Found a better way. I never knew you could put & #58; in links!

Ah, Final Fantasy IX, of course. I believe I've had this username ever since the game came out. I'm not much into headbutting other people.

Five years ago I was a member of the Final Fantasy VII Citadel which was notorious for moving from place to place. It finally ended up at an Acmlm board. I like the change enough to switch over to Acmlm's main message board as Ruby Razor. Then I didn't post for several years and apparently this board has also had many changes both virtually geographic and cosmetic.

I don't have a digital camera, a cell phone, or any recent pictures of myself. If you've ever seen "Blow Out" on Bravo just imagine that guy but younger and smarter.

I'm going to PAX 06. I went to last years PAX--it was great. If you don't already read Penny Arcade then I recommend it.

My Brain Age is 20 and has been for 7 days now so i must be doing somethuing right. Anyway, I own PS2, XBox, GameCube, Nintendo DS Lite, NES, Sega Genesis and of course a PC but I only really play MODO and Diablo II on it.

I usually don't spam with 'welcome' posts like this one but I figure since you guys made a thread with the sole purpose of introducing people I gave it a shot in the dark.

Hello I am new, new and old at the same time. I have been viewing the rom hack domain for about 6 years but I am new to the forum and rom hacking. I've browsed a tiny bit and have a few questions, please don't hurt me .

1.I read the 42 page screenshot WIP thread in rom hacking, have any of those had demo's or been released?
2.Where is a good place to find some rom hacks from people of this forum, you guys are amazingly talented
3.In lunar magic how do I make a mushroom block, its killing me. I read all the docs but just can't do it.

glad to be here,

Some of them probably have already been released, I don't really know though because I don't know which hakcs have been posted here.

View the threads made by a ROM hacker (under his/her/its profile), then you're bound to see a release thread there.
Some ROM hackers also have a homepage you might want to check out.

Uhh... Hi all, I am new to here. --I found the so-called 'sappy' on the internet (which is a great program, I say) and decided to do some music hackings. This place sure helps a lot. Think I'll go through the giant stack of old posts before posting anything serious here. (It is a good practice to do that, right?)
