| Am I the only one who's annoyed at the way Cena/Angle is going? I think they're attempting to make Cena look unstoppable, but all they're actually accomplishing in my eyes is making Angle look like a goofball as opposed to a legitimate contender for the title. | |||

Sounds like the general consensus regarding the angle, in a futile attempt to bring this thread back somewhere in the same area code as on-topic, is most people didn't like it. But if it's something Eddie would've liked, then I guess it's okay. ONLY if that's the case. CONFERENCE CALL! Newsbits: * Linda McMahon said that they have plans to make up the money they're not getting in advertising revenue on USA through the Web, mostly by advertising and selling sponsorships to the online shows. * WWE Films trying to secure theatrical release dates for The Marine (John Cena's film) and See No Evil (Kane's), and will start filming The Condemned (Austin's) in 2006. * No one mentioned Eddie Guerrero. Also, the world's most logical tie-in happened, with White Sox catcher AJ Pierzynski showing up on ¡mpact! with White Sox strength/conditioning coach Dale Torborg (who portrayed the KISS character that dare not speak its name in WCW). I quote, from the Chicago Tribune: A.J. Pierzynski has agreed to "manage" three pro wrestlers in a pay-per-view match Dec. 11 in Orlando. Let's not forget that I hang out on the WrestleCrap board (rarely post, though) and am thus well aware of who Dennis Stamp is. 
Back to on-topic, someone on said board mentioned an interesting point--had the car been an ordinary car as opposed to an Eddie Guerrero tribute, it would've been par for the course for WWE. The problem is that it WAS the Eddie-mobile--effectively, his death was the catalyst for this whole thing. I'm not trying to read too much into the whole thing, but I nonetheless find it a bit disturbing in its printed form. |

I actually never saw Beyond the Mat and never had any real desire to actually. 
It's clear that WWE knows they crossed the line with that angle but don't want to admit it. They even had Chavo say he had no problems with it, which is either true (in which case Chavo's a bit dim) or is simply saying what they wanted him to say. Good luck selling those movies, Linda. :\ |
