Ok, bare with me. My dad works at kodak, and if you have been following the news I am sure you know that people are being fired left and right. Well, me dad didn't get fired and so he has begun pillaging various things that would otherwise be thrown out and giving them to me. Yesterday, he brought home a "cd-i player" Or what appears to be one. It's called the "sony intelligent discman cd interactive ivov11" OR something like that. I was wondering:

Is this thing capable of playing old cdi games such as zelda's quest and wand of gamelon? Am I able to burn these games to a cd somehow to boot them up on this cdi player? Any help would be apreciated. Much thanks.

Only one Google result. But it looks like it answers your question. (It's a portable CDi)

yep, it is a portable CD-i player, search for Sony IVO V11 and you get some results.

Sony IVO-V10 / IVO-V11

Sony called their portable CD-i players Intelligent Discman. There were two models with an LCD display, the IVO-V10 and IVO-V11. The IVO-V11 was an improved version of the IVO-V10, it solved some compatibility issues and it was compatible with the standard for CD-i pointing devices. Besides these models, there was also a Sony CD-i portable without an LCD screen. The players could not be upgraded with Digital Video functionality. They were intented for professional usage.

...Um, the Google search showed one page that, when you look at it, has a system very similar to yours in name that's a CDi system.

Your search - "sony intelligent discman" - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

* Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
* Try different keywords.
* Try more general keywords.

In other words... No, Colin, it didn't. At least, not for us.

*Eye twitches* If someone got me a CD-i or anything in that manner, I'd be offended.

Anyways, it sounds like a portable CD-i, hence "discman". This answer probably didn't help, since most people already did answer.

Interestingly enough, clicking that link does indeed return one result.. Which leads to this very thread! Strange indeed, but the page you speak of does not apparently show up with that specific search term.

That's VERY funny because at one point there was a link there that CLEARLY led to a page with some info about it.

I'm perplexed.

Wouldn't the easier solution just to be to check the CD-I player for controller ports?
