Super Princess Peach: SNES Version

It's SMW, but...

The heroine is Peach instead of Mario and Mario has been captured!

I'll need advice on the following topics:

1. Inserting a Peach Sprite from SMB2 to SMW, and what tools are involved and where to get them.
2. Inserting Custom GFX and getting it to show up in LM 1.63
3. Inserting the mario as the "ending" sprite (after peach's out of Bowser's Flying Clowncopter)
4. Inserting Custom Backgrounds.
5. And finally, music tools - I would like to add my own musics.

Ciao,
NintenDS

P.S. Screenies soon!

Hahaha wanna know something funny? I just thought of that yesterday... Curse you lol. Ah, well. If you can manage to make it then, good luck! I don't want to work on something somebody else is working on lol. As for advice:

1. Open the rom in Lunar Magic, enable "Use joined GFX files" in the Options tab, then Extract your graphics. Then, a new folder should appear in your roms folder titled "GFX". In it, there should be a file called AllGFX.bin. Open this up with a tile editor like Tile Layer Pro or yy-chr.
To get Peach's graphics, you would want to open Super Mario All-Stars and look for Peach's SMB2 graphics. Then rip them to your hack. (Mario's sprites are usually near the end in the graphics file.) When you are finished, save AllGFX.bin and go back to Lunar Magic. Then Insert the graphics.
2. Uhh... If you use the process listed above, it should show up in LM. (Except, of course, Mario's graphics.)
3. Just like in (1.), but this time, look for the Mario sprites you wish to rip and insert them where Peach is.
4. Meh... I'm not that good at that, sorry. I'm sure somebody here wouldn't mind helping you.
5. There is no way to add music just yet. blackhole89 is working on a program called Solar Soundtrack which will allow us to do so, but it might not be out for a loooooooong time.

Hope that helped.

A better idea is to open SMA1 instead. It has far more frames.

And just to clarify, JJokerDude meant that you open it in a tile editor, not an emulator. Just sayin'.

Just a quick question. TLP doesn't support .bin files, but can be opened when the type of files to be shown are all of them. I don't see any tiles I reconize. So, is there something wrong I'm doing?

[EDIT] So I used TilEd, and it supports .bin files. Changed the render mode to SNES 4bpp, and the correct tiles are displayed. How do I change the pallette to something that displays Mario correctly? I only get shades of different colors when I change it.

[EDIT AGAIN] So I found out how to change the render mode in TLP too. I find the interface easier... None of the pallette choices fit Mario's sprites.

It does for me. Once you open AllGFX.bin, go to View>Format>SNES. Theeeeere we go.

And peter_ac... I thought I already clarified that lol. ("Open this up with a tile editor like Tile Layer Pro or yy-chr.")

Yeah, but what about the palette? I can't seem to change it to something appropriate.

Actually, I can't get the right palette using TLP too.

You should try YY-CHR instead, which has a good palette feature and other nice extras.

Of course, if you really want to use Tile Layer Pro, know that it can read NESticle savestates and use them as a palette file.

Wouldnt it be easier to copy>paste the Toadstool GFX over Marios then worry about the palette in LM?

Super Princess Peach: The Yoshi Quest

is it's new name.

Since Peach doesn't have riding yoshi sprites (in SMA1), I'll put her as the mario sprite and mario as the old peach sprite.

Now, only two things...

Peach's hair colour - would it change due to the SMW Pallete?
And her death animation - can it be static (like in SMB2)?...

This is a good forum, and I'll pay $1,000,000 to be a moderator. (<<<------ JOKING XD)

Thats the thing. What I would do is copy the tiles for Peach over, then redraw some if they needed to be, then do the palette in LM. There is no way to get around changing the Palette in LM. So yes, her hair color will look wrong, all of her will look wrong, until you change the palette.

I uhh... Hope you don't mind... I already started working on the graphics part... (I was curious lol...)

But the good news is, no her hair won't be messed up if you change the SMW palettes to Peach's SMB2 palette.

And when she dies, it really does look like SMB2 lol.

Oh, and just a quick suggestion. Second player should be Daisy.

... You just couldn't resist, could you? Now, here's something that would be truly awesome. Replace Mario with Kain from FF4.

Found the Mario Sprites in the SMW Rom I've been looking for!

Can JJokerDude send me the SMW graphics with peach and custom ones like swimming, etc?

EDIT: JJokerDude, your hired for the GFX parts.

I really SUCK at editing sprites. In fact, I stuffed up the rom 120 - yes - 120 times last night insert peach's sprites! Call that B.A.D or what?

Please email the sprites to me.

If anyone would like to offer their sprites, sounds or music howtos, just email 'em!

Oh, by the way the pictures look AWESOME!!!
