You fools. Grey is obviously stigmatized.

Well, I woke up with blood on my shirt again. This time it was in the same place, same side, along the left side of my torso beneath that part of my chest.

I wouldn't place too much stock in the rare condition... it really might be the fact that the fabric of my shirt is just so irritating that it causes my skin to bleed wherever there isn't anything to protect it. I guess I better start using fabric softener or something. I really don't think I'm sweating blood out of my nipples or something... That'd be terrible.

My image exxaggerates this so it looks like you have a huge possibility of dying from loss of blood. However, from what you've said, it seems like it's just a minor condition.

Right, it's a few spots of blood here and there about the size of a dime. It's just something that concerns me, it's not like I'm weakening from blood loss.

EDIT: I haven't told my parents about it, either, because I figure it's either temporary and therefore doesn't matter, or my mom will come up with some bullshit explanation for it like I'm staying up too late and that's what's causing me to bleed.

EDIT2: Did I mention it's always brown, dried blood? It seems like it's been there for about an hour or two at best.

Wear a different type of shirt to bed if you think it's the fabric. Can't hurt to give that a try.

Are you noticing any kind of a rash or such? I would imagine that given what you've described, there'd be some kind of a rash such as eczema. Perhaps you itch in your sleep?

No rashes, and recently (for two nights now) it seems to have let up, after a particularly bad spot on the last night that the blood was there. I'm still confused as hell, but for the time being it's not happening, so I guess I'm ok.

If it keeps happening, I'll keep giving you guys an update, but thus far it looks like I'm not dying anymore, nor do I have stigmata in my chest. Cool beans.

I'd have gone to the doctor. I... think it's something you should just make sure isn't harmful.

But if it's stopped, hooray.

I don't think random bleeding without any other effects is a bad medical sign.

Now, if it happened in the afternoon or something, then maybe there'd be some concern. You know, because a spot would appear out of nowhere and maybe Grey would actually feel pain.

I also suspect it's not a major issue. I just thought it might be something like eczema cause I sometimes have dried blood on my clothes and it's cause I've scratched an itch till it bled in my sleep.

I don't tend to do that so much anymore, but I did a lot when I was a teenager.

Well, I went to the doctor today: Woke up with another spot, this one bigger than the last one. About the size of a child's fist.

The doctor had no idea what it could be, so he took some of my blood and they're doing bloodwork on it.

They don't get the results in until next week, so until then I just gotta wait. If it is something serious, like a thyroid condition or something akin to that, I'll be sent to an epidemiologist (sp?) for further examination. Here's to hoping I don't have cancer.

I'll drink to that.
Think positive, though. It's probably nothing big. I hope the tests come out ok.

I'll be wishing the best for you Grey. But I don't drink so... *pulls out some sparkling cider*

But a thyroid problem doesn't automatically mean cancer, right?

Your thyroid is in your throat: It regulates growth hormones and the like. A thyroid infection would be completely unrelated to cancer...

The cancer thing was just a joke. I'm just hoping I'm not too sick to work, now.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I know what the thyroid is, I know plenty of people who have overactive thyroids and the like, but... I didn't think it was related to cancer.

You could get thyroid cancer, however. And radiation therapy could be required to treat a thyroid problem; but we're not talking about chemo or anything like that. You'd just have to visit the hospital a couple of times and wouldn't feel any ill effects. (I know people who've had thyroid problems and it's really not a big deal to treat in most cases.)
