I have a computer that used to overheat. I opened my window, then it got left for 3-4 hrs. When i came back, it was crashed. It was also cold in my room.. and the hard drive was cold. Anyone think it underheated?

highly unlikely because you want your computer to be as cool as possible. However, if water condenses in the machine, then that would be bad...

Yeah, as far as I know it's impossible to underheat an electronic device because that's basically the goal of electronics. The cooler devices run at the better they work, less resistance and stuff, but coolness because of fluid is always a bad thing.

Electronics do have a minimum operating temperature. My CD player crashes when I try to use it outside at -20°C (seeing how the minimum temp is 0°C ).

Electronics DO have a minimum operating temperature.
Anything below that temperature can cause both condensation AND/OR a situation where components have less electrical resistance then they should.

Yeah, what HH and ||BASS said.

Perhaps you may instead want to just get better fans for your computer, since that should do well when it comes to cooling your PC, to prevent overheating AND underheating from exterior air.

Just a thought, although I've never had that happen to me up here in the great white (green) north, how cold was it outside at the time?
