Okay now I'm the kind of person who will open something new and (usually) know immediately how to use it. EliteMap is not the case, or perhaps it's just my computer.

Let's take the scripts for example in Pokemon Sapphire:

A) If I load an event script in the game, it won't even come up. My task manager will say that it's not responding. That was in EM 3.7. Also, scripts that do work will not compile (they give me run-time errors). In EM 3.6, the scripts do load most of the time, but the compile button will not even show up.

B) I'm not very keen with hexes, so I'm pretty new to them. What is with the Dexter program in EliteMap? I can't edit the description on hand, it asks me for hex pointers and I have no idea what those are, so yes, I'm a noob at that.

But I'd like some help with the fact that these scripts are screwed to the moon. My computer isn't very good but a program so simplistic like this should be able to run fine. Computer specs: Windows 98, 128 MB RAM, 800 mHz processor.

A) The runtime errors are usually caused by the rom having a space in its name, parts of the Elitemap folder being moved to another folder (Remember: Do NOT move the Elitemap folder from the directory you chose to install it in.)

Oh, I see. Yes, my file does have a space in the name. I'll try fixing that and seeing what happens.

Let's hope so. Then it'd work better than your layout. You broke the tables.

But does it only give the runtime errors for Sapphire?
Coz that type of problem usually surfaces in FR and LG, since I'm hacking it and Rubikon does NOT like FR and LG....

MInd you, I'd like to use Rubikon rather thatn hex, since it seems easier

The fact is, if he can open it at ALL with Sapphire, then it isnt an issue on the rom's end. And...Rubkon easier than HEX? All it is is telling you what each HEX means without you knowing before hand, its quite literally the EXACT same thing. I'm so sick of everyone thinking HEX is so difficult Wow, numbers from 0 to 255, what a concept. Surely I'd have trouble grasping that too. OH, wait. I don't. And neither should anyone else.
