First up, your layout sucks. Too much space is devoted to things that are not your post.

Now, to the topic at hand, I have Doom 3 Collector's Edition on Xbox... Honestly, I spent more time playing Doom and Doom 2 on it. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, but there's better out there...

Doom 3 was boring. I played it on Computer and Xbox(Finished the game on Xbox). No plot(Although Doom isn't really about story, it's about shooting the fuck out of shit), stopped being scary after filling the first two possessed guys with lead. I ended up playing the game and thinking to myself "That's it..?".

The game looks great visually, that's about the only thing I can give it.

I thought Doom 3 was a pretty fun game. Albeit, I don't play too many fps on my computer (Unreal II, Unreal Tournament 2k3 and 2k4, and Quake 3 Arena) so my expertise on the mater is pretty much none. But coming from the perspective of a gamer I had a lot of fun with the game. If you've got the right computer the game looks increadible and runs really fast. Also, if the game isn't scary enough for you start out on hard so that on top of things jumping out at you you also have the knowledge of knowing you're going up against a pinky with only a pistol. Anyways, I had good times with it, haven't tried the online mode yet though.

Doom 3 succeeded in being creepy at least . I didn't really like the VERY static gameplay without even so much as destructible glass. (Yes, I do run around destroying windows a lot in other FPS games ).

Really? I didn't think so, I found what should have been scary *very* easy to predict after playing for a while, heh.

It ran awesome on my computer.
It is a shame it didn't live up even to wolfenstein.
:( i expected a fun gam á la Doom 2. but of course not. It had to be "scary". Yeah, okay, you managed scary. but only in a "shock" way. I mean, after a while, i KNEW were every zombie were supposed to be....

The only good thing that came from Doom3 was the hello kitty flashlight.

I played the demo, a "bit" too sluggish (1.4GHz Celeron; clockspeed is .4GHz above minimum, but it was also made for the Pentium 4!). I think I might buy the full one with a new computer, especially with the RoE expansion pack (heard it makes the game a lot more fun, challenging). Oh yeah, if the expansion doesn't help I'd just download one of the mods that are supposed to make it on par with Ultimate/Doom II's difficulty.

Being a long time Doomer, I love Doom 3. For all those who don't like it, I don't know what the hell is wrong with you. The graphics, gameplay, and sound effects are awesome. You can't really tell if you like a game by asking people what they think of it, I suggest downloading the demo or borrowing it from a friend. It is sweet.

The game looked at sounded great, yes. My biggest beef with it was that the AI for it was on borderline mental retardation.

I got both DooM 3 and Half-Life 2 shortly after I got this new computer.

I have played Half-Life 2 all the way through three or four times, plus various mods thereof.

DooM 3 I got bored with and still haven't bothered to finish. The "Classic Doom 3" mod for it, which recreates the original DooM's first episode (the shareware one) in the DooM 3 style, with physics and guns and such more matching the original game's in behavior, was fun, though.

So, yeah, not too great.

It wasn't bad, just not very gripping.. And the supposedly nice graphics don't really appeal to me either, they look too.. plastic. So meh, it really isn't something I felt like finishing.

I've been playing Doom since 1994, that makes me a true Doomer. I play almost every day, if you want some, come on ZDaemon and look me up. I'll show you why, I am a true Doom God!

Just saying, a true Doomer would recognize that DooM 3 was mediocre and not deserving of the DooM title
