So now that I'm going to college, I figure it's a good idea to get rid of this VIAO I've had stapled to my desk for the past four years. Intel Celeron CPU 1.70 GHz processor, 40 Gb of memory, and Sis-600 series video and sound cards... It's quite gruesome from an observer's point of view, I'm sure.
Now, Champlain College recently sent me a list of the basics that I'm going to need for the Bachelors in Electronic Game Programming. And everything is exponentially better then what I have at the current moment. What I'm looking to do now, is to buy a PC with all the requirements taken care of while keeping the buying price $1,500 or less. I could probably do with a whole new monitor as well (Samsung SyncMaster 770 TFT ain't bad, but I mine as well go for the whole package). So can anyone please help with finding some desktop PC's that fufill the following minimum requirements? Going higher then the required specs while keeping it reasonably low cost would work just fine as well. =P * Intel 3.2 or AMD 4000+ (dual core) * 1 CD/DVD-RW drive * 200 Gb of disk drive space * Any moderately good Video card, 256 memory * A gig of system memory * 19" flat screen monitor |

As with the laptop that was asked about in another thread, I'd suggest iBuyPower. I got my computer from there and it runs great. Here's what I've been able to configure with your specs. Everything can be tweeked if you go there so you can basically get whatever you want ontop of your requirements from $920 and up.
For $920
