Depends on the college/institution. Here the universities finish first, then the colleges and finally the high schools/elementary schools.

You'll pay for that when school starts again, BTW.

Colin's right about it depending on the institution. I've seen colleges/universities that follow the public school system. Of course, a lot of the other ones wind up with summer vacations beginning at the start of May and ending a bit over halfway through August.

They do that all the time. At the moment it's an Identity Management project.

I suppose I have that to look forward to in my future. Joy.

Well... You seem to be surviving it so far. All you have to do is keep it up! (Sorry if that sounded a bit mean. Good luck.)

It's only in your future if you're planning on any Help Desk work. See, in my line of work, new technologies bring clients pain... who in turn inflict it upon me.

I think technology would be more exciting from a different point of view..

You need to find a frequency which is really painful to the ear and telephone lines transmit well.

Nah.... I might not like my job all that much lately, but I'd rather have it than nothing. I like being paid.

I might need something like that though for at home, because Journalists like to call me and ask if I'm Terry Hicks (terror suspect David Hicks's father). It's fairly obvious they've just gone through the phone book and looked up all the T Hicks there.... ~_~

I'm FAIRLY certain that would go against some kind of law...

Well, that and the fact Taryn would have to talk in a really deep voice during the phone interview and make up stuff and all that.

That's beside the point! If she doesn't do it, SOMEBODY ELSE WILL. And you wouldn't want that, WOULD YOU?

Frankly, at the hours they call, I don't think I'm on the ball enough to try to be Terry Hicks anyways. They tend to call early in the morning on news days and wake me up.

Considering getting an unlisted number.

At least the telemarketers seem to have backed off somewhat after all they ever get out of me is "fuck off, not interested"

So you're basically saying "NO and it's 5 AM so leave me the F@%* alone!" at that time, hm? :\

I have a problem getting rid of telemarketers. I end up telling them I'm not interested but I could probably cut down my time by a good 45-60 seconds.

Durr. I didn't place.

I blame NSMB. And the fact that today I went to visit my sic grandma.

About the telemarketing thing: Do Not Call

Call the number they give you to add your phone number to the "Do Not Call" registry. Last I checked, it was "1-888-382-1222" or something like that.

...But I doubt it'll do Taryn any good, since she's Australian.

Apparently the Australian Do-Not-Call Act is awaiting further legislation in Parliament.

Two responses to that, a mean one and a normal one. Mean: That's no excuse! THE BOARD COMES FIRST.

(Of course, the actual, normal one is that it was very nice of you. One of my grandmas broke her ankle not long ago... But she's really far out of state.)

Haven't some telemarketers called people on the Do Not Call list? I thought I heard something of that nature anyways.

At any rate, I think mine have gotten the hint when about 20 seconds (if that) into the call I tell them to go fuck themselves.
