Anybody has an idea like quicksand like in SMB3 can be implemented? There are custom movement blocks in blocktool, but that works different.

You could submit a custom block request to the sticky'd thread. (And I suggest you write as clearly and completely as possible, never assume that people know what you're talking about, e.g.: explain exactly how the custom blocks differ from the quicksand?)

That will probably take a long time.

I suggest just using a compromise: Custom block number 29 (Movement Down Very Slow block). When set to act like water in the map16 these blocks are close enough to the SMB3 quicksand that there really is no problem, assuming that you use some good ExGFX and animated tiles.

Some SMW hack uses tile number 1D4 (gray question block) as a quicksand.
However, it doesn't look like SMB3.

I'd love to know how Anikiti made his sand work so flawlessly in Luigi's Adventure 2 (which, by the way, he took off his site, for some reason). I mean, I wonder what custom block he used.

He probably used a combination move down block/block that always makes you standing on the ground, which would be like the SMB3 quicksand.

What happens if an enemy touches the block?
Does every enemy sink there too?

I suppose for enemies the block would preferably act like tile 130.

I think he might have used and/or combined the Ram Address 7E1471 and the code for the Down Movement Block to create the quicksand effect.

The values that 7E1471 uses are:

01 = Sinks you but you can jump
02 = Sinks you but you can't jump

I'm not sure if it was KT or Anikiti who created that block.

I have already made a quicksand block for my RPG hack. My internet was down until today but i'll post what I have in a few minutes.

Email me: theory@mtaonline.net and I can send you the files. Or I can post it if you can give me a couple hours to finish burying my phone line.

It's almost perfect except its a little faster and easier to jump out of than SMB3. But that can be adjusted.

-edit-
I can't post again until I no longer have the last post, and I can't seem to attach with this edit. Anyone help me out here?

The upload option is a little...anal? I know its for security reasons, but it can be annoying. Your just going to have to upload it at a file hosting site (www.sendmefile.com, www.savefile.com, ect. savefile is better.) or, like you said, wait for an email from them.
