This is the stupidest comic I have ever seen.
Edit: Oh, right, I was supposed to show "sympothy." It's only the second-stupidest. Did that lie make you feel better? (edited by Alastor the Stylish on 05-30-06 09:36 PM) |

Luckily I have completely forgotten all the comics I have read that are stupider than this, otherwise the very memory of them would manifest itself as physical pain. These strips are that bad.
The sprites are often poorly resized and poorly cut-and-pasted so they aren't on the same level as the others, the minor edits on Sigma's head are horrifying beyond words, and your grammar is despicable. Your comic sickens me. To top it all off, I believe you either stole that link sprite from here or you stole it from somebody else who stole it from SemiJuggalo. What, may I ask, does Wily have to do with this, Ansem? I thought they were in Neo Hyrule.

It's your first COMIC, but you've sucked up enough other things for me to know you're hopeless. Besides, there really are no tips I have for you. There's nothing I can say except to improve at everything, since there's really nothing you did right. It's poorly-put together, it has a horrid concept, it just... It has no redeeming values.
Hell, it even stretches the tables. (edited by Alastor the Stylish on 05-30-06 10:20 PM) (edited by Alastor the Stylish on 05-30-06 10:20 PM) (edited by Alastor the Stylish on 05-30-06 10:21 PM) |

I can't help it that I'm not that good at SMW hacking. I know that's what you're throwing at me. Anyways, I will try to put more than 3 seconds on each frame for now on.

Originally posted by Alastor the Stylish Ahahaha, you crazy hypocrite, you. Seriously, though, this comic is far worse than Kyouji's and what you need to do about it is everything. Either don't resize sprites or, if dealing with small, non-detailed sprites, resize them to 200%. Use good grammar. Read and follow things like these. Oh, and it's nigh-impossible to spend 3 seconds on each frame. It takes about that long just to put both sprites in each frame, let alone make any sort of text box, even a crappy one. You're just lying to make up for the fact that you tried and failed, I believe. |

(22:32:25) Stylish Alastor: It's not like I don't have an excuse. (22:32:32) DetectiveGrey: "This is the stupidest comic I have ever seen" is not constructive. (22:32:38) DetectiveGrey: It's criticism, but it's hardly helpful. (22:32:57) Stylish Alastor: This IM puts my logic perfectly. (22:32:58) Stylish Alastor: RF MarioMaster: Keep this up and he'll probably get banned cause he has a terrible, terrible way to react to things Ansem, I hate to admit it, but he's right: This comic is not good at all. You need to improve your grammar by leaps and bounds, and you need to credit the people who you got the sprites from BEFORE you use them, so as to prevent situations like Glyph Phoenix's reaction to the comic. You need a much more coherent plot and transitions. To use a prime example of this, your third comic contains a completely unexplained cutaway to a pair of characters that have yet to be introduced, and have nor eason for existing other than to add mystery to the story. The only problem with this addition of mystery is that you have made no effort at all to make it mysterious. It's with a well-lit room, a background that makes no impression on the reader other than to say "hey, it's a lab. Not a mysterious or evil lair, a lab! ", and it's with a sprite that looks like the main character, and what is clearly a rip of Sigma only slightly altered to look like the person you're attempting to make it look like. With proper storytelling, that single panel could have been an entire comic, or if possible, two comics that contained enough content to properly introduce those two characters as a pair of essential mysterious entities to the story. The "Next Part Of Part 2" makes almost no sense: You've randomly placed some enemies in front of our heroes with no explanation of why the heroes are there in the first place, or what the enemies hope to accomplish. You have suggested that your mystery character has powers that include thunder from the sky, but have provided the reader with no way to discriminate the means in which he does this from his normal powers. And what's that weird criscrossything that's above "Link"'s head? It looks like a double-helix, but there seems to be no reason as to where the hell he keeps the weapon when he's not using it, as well as where the mystery man got it in the first place. The bottom line is that you need to take this much, much, much slower. We need more, we need more dialogue, we need more explanation, more action, and less surging the story into our faces. I am closing this. I want you to go back, start your comic over, and do it with an iota of true thought this time. PM me with your first few comics, and I'll show you what you're doing right/wrong on your next attempt. Do not place junk like this in Modern Art ever again. Art requires more thought and inspiration to it than three seconds per panel. This is not art. |

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Why do people not listen? You want criticisms? Fine. 1) Your grammar is atrocious. That's possessive. You're no good at making sprite comics. That's a contraction of "you are", and is used to describe people to themselves. A little suggestion for you, please pay attention in school. Being on the internet does not grant you the right to type like a second grader. 2) Recolors and stealing sprites. Two major offenses in spriting, and you nailed them in one comic. Good going. Also, I would like to compliment you on your ability to cover your ass by saying "well i havnt made the creditz yet lol". You don't make an end credit thing, you credit as you go along, not to mention asking permission to use other people's custom sprites. 3) Why the hell are the comics so god damn huge? Not only is this going to bog down people that are still in the land of dial-up, but you're breaking the h-scroll for people viewing the page in 1024x768. 4) What the hell is with the plot? Guy 1: "Lets fight" Guy 2: "hokay " *fight ensues* Guy 1: "i died okay lets fight together" *teleport* Guy 2: "were now randomly in the outskirts of my homeland, which is known by most of our readers as a background to The Power Battles" Guy 1: "wha-" enemy: "lets fight kekekekeke" NO. Not now, not ever. This is one of the most contrived plots I've ever seen. You're ripping the pages out of a DBZ script nearly verbatim. My final advice, stop this endeavor. Go practice making your own sprites, and find someone that can write a story that's worth something. This isn't worth anything at all. And for the love of god, read the sticky. |
