| I have been accepted to AI New England (or New England Institute of Art)
and I have been given a letter asking if I want to start school early in their Summer II program. I'd leave June 27. Benefits include. -Head Start on classes -lower tuition -leave sooner The problem I run into is whether or not I'm ready to leave home. This school does not offer summer breaks. So this would be my last summer ever. And to toss it away to leave early... it just makes me feel rushed. I don't know the next time I'll be able to call somebody up and chill or spend long afternoons wondering about life outside my world. I really am in between a rock and a hard place with this one. so should I or should I not. (I'm not going to make my decision based on your opinions. Just want to know what others are thinking.) |

| If you stay home for the summer, will you do something that makes you feel more prepared to go?
If the extra summer isn't going to make you more ready to head off, you might as well head off now. If it's going to make you more ready, you're going to need to think about it more. Though you should think about how you listed "leave sooner" as a benefit all of its own. It seems quite telling. |

| I dunno... it can be very liberating having to be away from home all the time. The summer time stuff with moving in and out of apartments and dorms was just old after a while. Then having to find a job back home,etc. It sucked. Is it just that classes are more relaxed over the summer? Or is it pretty hardcore year round?
Either way, as long as you are prepared to leave home I'd say go for it. |

| Keep in mind college isn't going to take up your entire life. I mean, typically you're only in class a few hours a day, 4-5 days a week. You'll have plenty of spare time to enjoy the summer.
Unless you're taking a zillion classes, in which case I feel sorry for your either way.  |

| thanks. Thing is alot of my friends are going to other schools in completly different places (most are going to curry which is a bit of a trip from Brookline)

| I have to ask... how much of a head start would you be getting on your classes? While it can be nice to get a few out of the way, I can definitely understand the joy of having a bit of time to prepare yourself.
How exacltly does the "lower tuition" thing work? It doesn't quite seem to make sense to me, but... yeah. Either way, both sides have their perks. I'd personally probably take the last (easy) chance to hang out with my friends, though. |

| Your getting a headstart on your classes and a lower tuition. So hell, why not?Anyways, I would be glad to leave earlier. That would mean no more parents and such holding you back.
