I believe the suspension was 50 games, right? and about Bonds, I knew he'd get it. But he'll never get 755.

Dunno if anyone caught it, but a few slow news days ago, ESPN.com's Page 2 ran a piece guesstimating how many homers Bonds would have hit without anabolic enhancement. The answer? 616. Their methodology's semi-scientific, based on his bat speed and how much difference a slightly faster bat makes when it comes to being a stud who hits bombs (but enough about Doug Mirabelli) as well as his extra bulkiness. Most intriguing is their calculation that in the Year of Seventy-Three, he hit 18 more than he should have cleanly. 55 homers ain't too bad for someone that hold, but still... aren't people supposed to fade down the stretch? They estimated that he'd lose about a mile and a half per hour on his bat from August on, so that knocks off another 17 homers, including five more in his record-setting year. Oopsie. In total, they determined he cranked off 98 more homers than he would have legit. That just might be statistically significant.

And now for something completely different: Jason Grimsley?!

Is it safe to say his disclosures are gonna be HYOOGE? I mean, he came out and said it: they started testing for steroids, so I switched to HGH. Only question is how they'll get the MLBPA to bow down on both knees and accept blood testing.

Well, they have as much time to convince them as it takes to come up with a test for HGH, at least.

So, what do you guys think of Joe Miuklik? I wonder why he wasn't thrown out sooner...or was he already thrown out and this is what happened afterward?

The video

Oh, that was all after he got tossed. And while I feel somewhat sorry for the umps, that was hilarious. I heard he got a 7-day suspension and $1000 fine for that, which was excessive for a minor league manager. Oh well.

That was the greatest thing ever. Easy.

He was already thrown out before the sliding demonstration, so he was milking his time. Maybe they should've used replacement mannequins during the strike, then he'd appreciate the human factor.

I'm told roster changes are on the horizon. T.J. Beam, I'd be packing my bags if I were you.

Also, anyone who doesn't vote for Francisco Liriano in the AL has no soul and hates America.

Gee, what a surprise.

People like Manny shouldn't be allowed to play in the All-Star Game after so many dropouts. Disgrace.

To be fair, he is using an injury excuse. Wouldn't have happened if Keith Foulke didn't eat his fertilizer.

Oh, and speaking of disgraces () Carlos Lee's out of the Derby, replaced by that noted Panamanian, Lance Berkman. Was the national setup supposed to last, or was it just a one-shot deal?
