So, after being flamed off the board for my other hacks, I joined with another hacker, mynameisbob, and we are making a new hack TOGETHER. So, cue screenies. Oh, and this topic was made one day before Peter_AC announced the ban on people using his hacks as a base, so, hah.

Phinsfan is doing the levels (he knows a lot more now) and I do the rest but it's up to him if we want a new Overworld. There will be more, trust us.

Why do I get the horrible feeling that you have little ExGFX skills and thus based it off of peter_ac's GFX hack?

The level in the title screen gives you away, not to mention the SMAS Mario. In fact, it looks to me that the title screen level and recording are completely intact.

And the level with Mario getting killed by the Cheep-Cheeps looks to be mighty hard. You need to fix that.

Also, it's generally a good idea to post more than one or two screenshot of your progress. Next time, please post more levels. Otherwise, how can we judge your real progress?

EDIT: The second screenshot looks alright, but nothing really stands out. It's like... meh. Try to take your screenshots in the more exciting parts of your levels.

Next time when you want to show more attachments, click Preview Post, then change how many fields show up (5 is the max, I think, or 3) then click preview again. Then you don't have to wait for a post to put up more...

EDIT: The intro screen looks too basic. The next screen is WAY too boring except for the uneccesary fish. Then more monotnous.

All in all, you need to work on making things... look less boring. The second one could be improved with scenery or at least more on the second half of the screen. For the third... figure out something that hasn't been done millions of times before (3 jumping Koopas in a row is... too boring and easy to dodge.).

I have NO EXGFX skills, which is why we did that, he said use it as a base for your own hacks! It is hard I know, but I don't know how to turn off the generator mynameisbob set up. I tryed to take Legoman as an example to follow when making a hack, please, I'm not good at this.

I suggest taking BMF or Ghettoyouth as an example to follow insted

about the screenshot:

1.please put some work in it, you got full control over layer 1, and 3 for the title screen, do something more original than adding some crappy leter

2. seeing Mario dying is alway bad in a screenshot, because it make the hack look too hard

3.nothing to say


suggestion: change the graphic if the character aren't suppose to be mario and luigi

When you post screenshots, use the [img] tag.
(img=http://photobucket.com/yourphotolink.jpg)(/img) (I think that's how it works)
That way, you can edit your post and add more screenshots as you go.
Replace the () with []

Um...well, he never really became GOOD. "Better" may have been the appropriate word here.

As for the screenies.

1. Title screen looks decent, even if the GFX were based off of peter_ac's hack.

2. Looks....ugh. Note block scaling + insane flying cheep-cheeps would be hard. Unless this is later in your hack (which I highly doubt it is) they shouldn't be used (or at least made easier)

3.Not bad...no comment.

You've improved from your first hack, which is a plus, but these aren't stellar. They need more action and crap in them

I may get flamed for this, but, we need help, we need more staff in this project, I plan for this to be a big team project, tell me what position you want, if you want to be in. Current positions:
Me: Producer/ Co-Leader/ Beta Tester 1.
mynameisbob: Leader/ Director/ Level Designer 1.
My brother: Beta Tester 2.

Positions currently open include, but are not limited to: Data Admin, Title screen, Beta Tester 3, Overworld Editor, Level Designer 2. Oh bob, if you object, tell me.

You should remove at least one row of blocks off the top. I don't think Mario can jump that high.
