For Mac or Windows. Whatever. I just need to get Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time a bit smaller..

It'd help if it would be possible to remove all of the text, since I don't need that..

Umm... I don't think that's entirely possible... the changes would have to be on a case-by-case basis, and I doubt anyone's made a tool of that sort, much less one that would work with more than 2-3 roms..

Can't you just zip it up or something? It won't be a permanent change, but it should be a bit smaller...

Well, there are many tools of stripping ROMs of excess padding (eg, zeroes on the end), but it's mostly system-specific for whatever kind you're trying to do.

Now you're looking to remove actual game data (text), this will be very likely game-specific, and if Romhacking.net or Google doesn't have anything about the game, you will probably be on your own to find out yourself.

Um... why don't you just zip the file? You haven't indicated why you need it smaller.

sounds like you should either find out exactly where the tiles are stored, or you should get a new [better] tile viewer :o. you could always try chopping the file into pieces.

I believe this to be a DS rom and in that case a DS rom is basically a Directory and DStool can or whatever it is called is can extract the directory of the entire rom and place it on your hard drive for easy viewing then you can just reassemble the ROM.
