you can still add ExGFX if you really need more map16 page you can:

1. re-use some of the map16 page(organisation is the key)
2. use a ASM hack to make it so a different map16 data is loaded in some level(DON'T bug me to do it)

Probably curiosity. But yeah, in addition to what Bio said, if you ever reach the point where you run out of Map16 pages, something is definetly wrong with you, either in the positive mental sense or the negative mental sense.

That's not true, asdf. If one is making a rather large hack with prerendered graphics or levels with lots of custom blocks, it's entirely possible to run out of map16 space. BMF was having some trouble with that, IIRC.

I personally think lots of you guys need to learn to organize. There's not enough flipping, reuse of tiles for multiple themes, and block placement in SMW hacks these days. Asymmetry is overrated, yo.

Yeah, Glyph said pretty much what i was going to =P
Keeping organized and minimalistic is key with SMW Map16 hacking. I've actualy squeezed in tiles into the regular graphic sets, outsourced some tiles to make room, and checked every 8x8 tile to make sure I didn't have any duplicates.

Another thing you can do is build from existing tilesets, so you don't need to do any Map16 hacking.

I could probably add more map16 pages, but the flaw is that I have to insert the tiles manually and build the levels with them manually.
I found the pointer to the map 16 data, and I can easily expand it, but like it's been said earlier, IT'S A LAST RESORT THING!!

But....how do you move tiles from one ExGFX file to another. I don't see it possible. If you download them and there already done for you how do you rearange the tiles in the Map16 pages?
