| I actually just think the Story Forum, Sim-Battle Arena and Brain Teasers should just stay the same. But you could merge General Emu, General Gaming, and Game creation into one. Maybe call it "Gamer's Corner" or something... *shrugs* | |||

I have no problem with the changes. Officer's Club and Anya and Elmo's / Femine's tend to overlap in content too btw to some extent. Sure, one is more sexual in nature but both tend to deal with personal or emotional topics  |

| Don't think officer's club and female land should be merged simply b/c one is for under 18 emo complaints while the other is for 18+ emo complaints and more importantly for girly stuff.
I think if you merge general emulation with general gaming you will regret it, seeing threads that you want to move out of the forum but will no longer be able to. I agree with the removal of Advanced Romhacking as it's not really been that useful and it's subjective what is "advanced" romhacking. I more or less agree with most of the other changes, though I'm not interested in seeing acmlmboard threads in the programming forum, nor am I interested in seeing lame game creation threads there either. Then again, I don't give a shit about the other forums. |

| My 2 cents: Don't merge General Gaming with General Emulation, the topics of the forum are too different, as well as for the other reasons presented by Math on Napkins. Do however merge Mario and RPG gaming into general gaming. It'll probably be one of the most active forums after that.
Keep game creation by itself; sometimes the self-made games involve truly custom programming while others are made with a program and only feature self-made graphics, and sometimes not even that. Adv. ROM hacking, well... since I'm not an advanced (or intermediate) ROM hacker, I can't fairly pass judgement on if they should be merged or not. Story forum and battle arena should be seperate; some people like to roleplay only with bloody violence, and others like to discuss things like gentlemen, so leave them as it is. Brain teasers, I don't know what you could merge that with, so I would leave it. |

I wouldn't merge Brain Teasers with anything, but I would change the name, since there are more things in there besides Brain Teasers. An example would be the Mario Kart thread, (Which I should start updating again).  (edited by Chaos Force on 05-19-06 10:24 AM) |

| Leave SF and SB alone, despite perhaps lessened activity they're both being used and the focus is still different enough between the two.
Brain Teasers could probably use a rename, but beyond that I'd leave it alone. GenEmu has always been considerably less active than other forums, but if you nuke it, those topics will probably get put in Romhacking instead of General Gaming. Repeatedly. Not something I'd want to deal with. I would consider leaving Anime out of the Entertainment merge, considering how immature some people can be about anime - but I don't know if that's a problem on this board. Game Creation and Programming are generally two different things; while there are some exceptions, GC usually deals with Game Maker/RPG Maker instead of programming from scratch, from what I've seen. |

| My suggestions for the forums:
Officer's club - I'd leave it and fix the description so that newbies would know what it is for. Acmlm.org - I'd definitely merge it with H/S. AcmlmBoard Programming - I'd keep it. I have no opinion regarding anything in the entertainment category. Anya and Elmo's Corner - Fix the description to something more explanatory. Advanced ROM Hacking - Divide the threads between ROM Hacking and SMW Hacking and then remove it. SMW Hacking - needs a better description Pokemon Hacking - Please leave it. I remember how ROM Hacking was before this forum existed, and I'd prefer not to go back. SMW Hacking Crap - move the threads back into SMW Hacking where they will just sink off the first page. THE AWSOME BLACK HOLE - hide or delete In general, many of the forums could use better descriptions. As is, I believe that many of the descriptions are confusing to new members. |

| Almost all of it looks good to me, though merging the Officer's club with that other forum means either underage people going there to complain (*Shudder*) or complaining elsewhere.
But since I don't do much complaining anyway, it all looks good to me. IMO, the arena is dead without a tournament, since otherwise it's relatively hard to keep things together. |

| I think the entire entertainment section should remain as is. I really don't venture into music/tv/movie topic because I don't have much of an interest to american music, tv, and movies. I do participate periodically in anime discussion and quite a bit in sports. In my opinion, merging all the entertianment section is going to make finding specific topics on anime or sports difficult...
the other stuff I'm fine with. |

| I agree with pretty much everything, but I say leave Brain Teasers and GenGaming/Emu alone.
As for the others (acmlm.org, EmuNet, Programming) I never go there anyway (nor do a lot of people) so they could be deleted. The Super Mario Series....I have no real opinions about that. It'd be nice to see it stay, since it's good reference when new games come out (YI2, NSMB, etc.) I agree %100 with Game Creation....don't delete it, but move it to programming, since that's basically what it is. As for the rest, I don't care  |

| With the entertainment forums, it's just much nicer having them divided like that. If I want to talk about music or television, I know where to go. Sports, I know where to go. Anime, well I don't take part in anime so I can't really comment. But the forums are active enough... They'll just get cluttered with topics that hardly relate. I'd really prefer keeping them the way they are.
And titles don't always work. Someone may title a thread "OMG" when it's actually about, say, who won the superbowl. If that were in sports center, I'd have a good idea what it was about. If all the sections were merged, it could be anything. Something in the music world, on TV, a sports thread, something about anime. I just prefer them the way they are now.  |
