If you do sleep with someone that is, or maybe someone down the hall....how fdo you deal with someone that snores?

I'm highly stressed out as of late, and with someone that I can hear snoring from the other room (sometimes with headphones on), I mean, I just can't fall asleep to that! I swear, I;m gonna go on a killing spree or something.

When sleeping WITH somebody that snores, I used to.... well, hit him. I'd roll over and give him a good hard elbow.

If you can do it just right, they don't wake up, and they roll over and stop snoring.

With somebody snoring in the other room... do they usually snore, or is it just something recent? I guess you might need to talk to them about it... :-/

Tell him to get tested for sleep apnea, first of all.

And if it is just regular brand snoring, the drug store has this nasal strip thingies that might work.

We've tried the strips before...didn't work.

He could have gone to teh doc for it before, but he didn't and now he's without insurance.

They could need surgery to make their nostril holes wider. My dad is a horrible snorer and he had the surgery done on him and it improved him some, he also has a machine that helps him breathe.

Or you could try ear plugs, but other than that I don’t know.

Dudette: that is sleep apnea.... that's why he would have a machine....

and yeah.... the only thing that my wife can do is to get me to roll over onto my stomach....

other than that she just has to hope I stop

although, I only snore a lot when I'm sick... (which is now)

My dad snores....alot. I can hear him down the hall, behind closed doors and with a TV on. He's been seriously tyring to stop but he just can't help it. He says weight plays a serious factor (though he isn't fat by any means, just a big guy), so...that may have somehting to do with it. If the snorer in question is a bit heavy, you may have more trouble getting them out of the habbit

My mom snores... it's insane. I can hear it in my room with the door closed, and a loud fan on in an attempt to cover it up.
Depending on my mood, things like that can drive me nuts.
I'm touchy about a lot of things.

I laugh. I'm dead serious.

It's like laughing at a fart; it makes no sense to laugh at it but I do it anyways. I had to put up with that when I was downstate this past week if a friend of mine fell asleep on the couch while I was on the comp/PS2/DVD/whatever upstairs. I just find them amusing is all. :\

Both of my parents snore, my day is the one who snores louder. I can hear him snore from across the house and I'm not joking either. They say that I snore very loud but I don't believe them. I wonder if I do snore as loud as they say?

I find that background noise (that which you are not focusing on) is often times more intense and irking than foreground noise. Try to focus on the sound, and maybe, if you focus hard enough, you'll grow bored of the sound and forget about it. Like smelling a smell or tasting a taste prolongedly; you grow dull to the sensation. Also, like when you repeat a word aloud, over and over again -- it loses meaning. Try "punch." Not like, punching him, I mean saying punch over and over again.

My dad and mom snore a bit. My dad slightly louder but nothing really loud enough to warrant death.

Now when two friends of mine stayed over last summer, one of them, ED, snored so loud that my other friend was forced to drag the mattress and sleep in my room.

He really sucked.

The air out of the room and maked sleeeping a task. Lucky for me, I moved and he doesn't need to stay over now.

I would've killed him otherwise.

That's happened to my mom too. I was making breakfast, and she was sleeping on the couch, and was snoring like crazy. One gets a little too loud and wakes her up, and she nearly fell off the couch in shock.

There's nothing more hilarious than an otherwise capable creature utterly disabled and confused. Like dangerous wild animals waking up from tranquilizers, or the afforementioned self-snore-shock.

I'm usually the one staying up until 8am. Do I mind it? No. I'll just turn on the television or log in here. While I'm up and around, I'll try to drop some foreign objects on the guy's face just to see what he'll do.

I like it when they fall asleep, snore, and then catch a big one wake up and go 'what'd you say?'.

This hasn't happened more than a hundred times to me...never gets any less funnier when it happens. I know I snore occasionally because I find myself in that place where I begin to drift off and I notice I start sounding like I'm breathing in way too hard through my nose.

Okay, how about this situation.

Where the person in the room is snoring loud. I mean, almost ear hurting loud, yet when you open the door and walk in and make the tiniest sound they wake up and say "What?"

HYperbolic super earz!
