I've seen far deader projects than DOSbox... and update to 'box isn't that surprising :/

This update is quite significant actually. Try dynamic core w/ auto cycles, you can play Blood and even Quake (yeah, proper ports exist) at decent framerates finally

(however of course, an athlon64 3200 is ideal for this speed.)

other than that, running windows for workgroups 3.11 is rather helpful for trying to use 16-bit applications in a 64-bit platform.

Right now the only problem I have with 0.65 is the video codec used to capture, because it's not supported in Windows XP x64, and FFDshow sorta supports it but swaps the red and blue channels, so Blood turns into SmurfKillathon6000.

As I understand it, the CGA composite emulation is based off NewRisingSun's algorithm, which was the base for Blargg's implementation as seen in Nestopia and ZSNES (and soon to be seen in Charles MacDonald's SMS Plus and - I think - Genesis Plus as well).

Which means that it's awesome. If you haven't seen it in action in one of the aforementioned emulators, you don't know what you're missing. This filter literally emulates everything about NTSC except for noise.

It's a pretty decent update from the look's of things, I will have

That's pretty cool, LocalH... Definitely a step forward in general.

The whole higher-speed thing will be helpful, seeing how there are a few old games that require slightly higher specs than allowed formerly... It's still extremely helpful for old programs, though.

I just ran into a glaring bug or so.

A particular scene in F-117A's take off animation (for both the intro and the mission starts) animate very, very very slowly, causing a 2 minute wait for those who wish to not skip them.

Apart from that and the codec thing, DOSbox is aok.

I'm trying to play the DOS version of MUGEN (a customizable fighting game engine)

It keeps saying I need to download some zip file for it to work, where can I find it?

Can I even play this at ALL (It uses Vesa or some old crap for graphics)?

Use the hacked WinMUGEN, problem solved!

I have WinMugen, but it's a hell of a lot harder to find downloadable characters for it and I don't know how to make them myself.
